Base Class: Paladin
Tenets of the Mage Hunter
Lead By Example. You command the forces of the arcane. You have been trained for years to master these abilities. As such, you have an unspoken duty, as one of the few who are allowed these powers, to be an exemplar and use them with restraint and purpose.
Never falter. A single unchecked mage could reap death and destruction upon the world on an unprecedented scale. A single untrained summoner could conjure death and destruction for thousands, if not millions. There may be no exceptions to the Law of Knowledge. All must be brought to the fold or crushed, to ensure a safe future for all you hold dear.
Forget not the Eye. To be gifted with the arcane is to have the Divine Gaze upon you your whole life. The Sage teaches what the world should and could be and grants his blessing to the most fortunate of souls. Give thanks and live in reverence, and never cease your quest for learning.
Fear above all. Arcane is the power incarnate. Wield it to strike fear and you may not need use it. Fear it and respect it, so as to not to be destroyed by it.
Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
Control Chaos. As a reaction, you can shift the flow of arcane energies using your Channel Divinity. When a creature you can see casts a spell within 30 feet of you, you can attempt to absorb or redirect it. Absorbing it negates the spell and fills you with the energy, refilling one of your paladin spell slots of the absorbed spells level or the highest level you can cast if its too high of a level for you. Redirecting the spell lets you choose another target for it. If the spell targets a specific creature you can choose another target within 10 feet of the original target. If it is cast on a point, you can choose a different point within 10 feet of the original target. If the spells level is higher than your highest level spell slot, make a Charisma check. The DC equals 10 + 5 for every level above your highest level spell slot. On a fail, the spell succeeds.
Arcane Sight. You can use your Channel Divinity to tear a rift in reality and gaze directly into a creatures inner being. As an action, you can force any creature within 10 feet of you to make a Charisma saving throw. On a fail, you see beyond the mortal coil, peering directly into their soul and catching a glimpse into their inner most being. You learn their alignment, resistances, vulnerabilities, immunities and whether or not they themselves possess the Gift. You can also ask the Sage a question about the quality of their soul.

Magical Tempest
By 7th level, you can utilize the chaotic flow of arcane forces on a battlefield to empower your step. Whenever you cast a spell, your movement speed is increased by 10 feet until the end of your next turn. This effect can stack up to three times.
At 18th level, this effect is increased to 20 feet.
Residual Torrent
Starting at 15th level, you can take control of residual energy from spellcasting and channel it into a devastating attack. When a creature within 30 feet of you casts a spell, you can use your reaction to cast lightning bolt at 3rd level, without expending a spell slot.
Once you use this ability, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
Conduit of Chaos
At 20th level, you can suffuse yourself with raw arcane, letting the energies flow freely through you and unleashing the full might of magic. As an action, you gain the following benefits for 1 minute:
Whenever a spell or other magical effect is cast within 60 feet of you, you gain the benefits of Magical Tempest, until the end of your next turn.
Friendly creatures within 30 feet of you have advantage on saving throws against spells and enemies have disadvantage.
While under the effects of Magical Tempest, your attack rolls have advantage.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
