Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

A Half-orc Dressed in full plate wields his great sword expertly as he cuts through squads of goblins, his blade alight with a bright red flame. As he leaps a translucent shape of grand wings seem to glint in the sunlight before he plummets back into the fray.

A young dwarf lurks through the alleyway before leaping onto a nearby rooftop. As she raises her crossbow she mutters in an ancient guttural language as her bolts begin to drip with poison, her cat-slit eyes finding her quarry.

An old human walks down the well-traveled road clutching onto his cane for stability. The bandits noticed far to late the patch of red scales climbing up his neck. The only thing that would be found of them is a pile of white ash.

Dragon knights are skilled combatants, but they also are masters of ancient and near forgotten magics. Whether they learned in a secluded monastery or were taught by dragons themselves, their effectiveness is undoubtable. They copy the innate magical abilities of dragons to enhance their own physicality and combat effectiveness.

Elemental Arsenal

Also at 3rd level you gain the ability to use your draconic magics to enhance your capabilities in combat.

You may use the following abilities

Your Dragon knight save DC = (8 + your proficiency bonus + your constitution modifier)

Elemental Fury: When you hit a creature with an attack may deal an additional 1d6 damage to the target creature. The type of damage is the same as your draconic inheritance. You may use this feature once per attack action. This damage increases to 2d6 at 5th level, 3d6 at 11th, and 4d6 at 17th.

Draconic might: When you hit a creature with an attack may force it to make a Strength saving throw equal to your Dragon Knight save DC. If the target fails you may choose to knock the creature prone or 10 ft. away from you. You may use this feature once per attack action.

Breath Weapon: When you use your action surge, you may use your extra action to use your breath weapon. Your breath weapon deals 3d8 + your constitution modifier damage in a 30 ft. cone. Creatures caught in your breath weapon may make a dexterity saving throw equal to your Dragon Knight save DC and take half damage. This damage increases to 4d8 at 5th level, 5d8 at 11th, and 6d8 at 18th. The damage dealt by your breath weapon is doubled in your Dragon form.

Draconic Inheritor

Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you begin to learn imbue yourself with draconic magics, inheriting many of the natural capabilities of the creatures.  Choose which Inheritance you imbue into yourself

White Cold

Additionally You can speak, read, and write Draconic. When you make a charisma check when interacting with dragons, you have advantage on the roll.

You gain resistance to your chosen damage type

You may use your bonus action to take the form of a dragon the same type as your inheritance. While you are transformed, the following rules apply:

  • Your form has total hitpoints equal to 10 x your fighter level
  • Your form has natural weapons. You gain a tail attack that deals 1d8 bludgeoning damage with a reach of 15 ft. bite attack that deals 1d10 piercing damage with a reach of 10 ft. and a claw attack that deals 2d6 slashing damage with a reach of 5 ft.
  • You gain a natural armor class of 15+ your proficiency modifier
  • Your base walking speed increases by 10 ft. and you gain a 30 ft. climbing speed

  • You gain darkvision of 60 ft.
  • Your Strength score increases by 1/2 your fighter level (rounded down). This increase can raise your strength above 20 but not 30.
  • When you transform, you assume your form's hit points. When you revert to your normal form, you return to the number of hit points you had before you transformed. However, if you revert as a result of dropping to 0 hit points, any excess damage carries over to your normal form. For example, if you take 10 damage in dragon form and have only 1 hit point left, you revert and take 9 damage. As long as the excess damage doesn't reduce your normal form to 0 hit points, you aren't knocked unconscious.
  • You retain the benefit of any features from your class, race, or other source and can use them if the new form is physically capable of doing so. However, you can't use any of your special senses that your new form does not have.
  • You choose whether your equipment falls to the ground in your space, merges into your new form, or is worn by it. Worn equipment functions as normal, but the DM decides whether it is practical for the new form to wear a piece of equipment, based on the dragon's shape and size. Your equipment doesn't change size or shape to match the new form, and any equipment that the new form can't wear must either fall to the ground or merge with it. Equipment that merges with the form has no effect until you leave the form.

You can retain this form for a number of hours equal to 1/3rd your Fighter level (rounded down). You have two uses of this feature per short rest.
