Base Class: Monk
Every good monk knows that flowing within each creature flows ki, the very essence of life. Manipulating the flow of ones own ki, a monk is able to enhance their physical capabilities beyond that of a normal being. Those who follow the Way of the Ki Blocker however specialize in manipulating and hindering the flow of ki in other beings, crippling them in various ways.
Flow Like Water
Once you reach 3rd Level when an opponent misses you with an attack in melee range you may use your reaction to either move half of your speed without provoking opportunity attacks or make one unarmed strike, dealing half damage.
Cripple Limb
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can manipulate your enemy’s ki when you harness your own. Whenever you hit a creature with one of your unarmed strikes, you may spend 1 Ki Point to attempt to impose one of the following effects on that target:
- Throat Punch: You strike a creature where its vocal chords lie, causing it make a CON save or be unable to make any verbal noises for an amount of turns equal to your wisdom modifier minus 1 (minimum of 1). The creature may re-attempt their saving throw at the end of each of their turns to end the effect early.
- Cripple Arm: You strike one of the arms of a creature causing it to make a CON save. Upon failure it immediately drops whatever is being held in that arm and may not take any actions involving the effected arm, including but not limited to: picking up an object, making an attack with a natural weapon, operating any sort of device. This effect targets only one arm but can be applied multiple times as to render each arm crippled. This effect last for an amount of turns equal to your wisdom modifier minus 1 (minimum of 1). The creature may re-attempt their saving throw at the end of each of their turns to end the effect early.
- Cripple Leg: You strike one of the creatures limbs used for locomotion causing it to make a CON save. Upon failure the creatures leg goes limp, causing it to be unable to take the dash action and lower its movement speed by 5 times your Wisdom modifier. This effect only targets one leg at a time but can be applied multiple times. If all legs are crippled in such a manner, the creatures legs buckle underneath them and fall prone until they gain control back over one of their legs. This effect last for an amount of turns equal to your wisdom modifier minus 1 (minimum of 1). The creature may re-attempt their saving throw at the end of each of their turns to end the effect early.
Precise Blows
At 6th level, you gain the ability for your unarmed strikes to cause bonus effects if landed sequentially during one of your turns. The following list shows the effects, in order to apply one of the latter effects one must first apply the prior ones. Example: In to apply the 3rd hit effect, one must first apply the 1st hit and the second hit effect. All hits must be completed within one turn, the count resetting afterwards.
Example: Turn 1- Creature is hit twice. Turn 2- creature is hit 3 times. The creature would suffer from the effects of 1 through 2 once on turn 1 and effects 1 through 3 once on turn 2, it would not suffer from effects 4 and 5 on turn 2 as the effects are reset each turn. Effects do not compound on each other with each hit, ie hit #4 on a turn does not have the effects of 1+2+3+4, it only has the effects of 4 and the strike before it would only have the effect of 3. Only attacks made during your turn count towards this ability.
1st Hit- No effect.
2nd Hit- Target creature takes additional damage equal to your Wisdom Modifier.
3rd Hit- Target creature has disadvantage against the next saving throw you impose on it until the end of your next turn.
4th Hit- You may use one of the features from Cripple Limb on this attack without expending any Ki.
5th Hit- The creature hit is stunned for 1 round. No save required.
Steal Ki
Beginning at 11th level, when you knock a creature unconscious or otherwise below 1hp, or land a critical hit against a creature, you may use your reaction to regain a Ki Point. This can be done a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1). This resets on a short or long rest.
Block Chakras
When you hit with an unarmed strike, you can spend 5 ki points to close off the chakras in a targets body. The target makes a Consitution Saving Throw, on a failed roll their Ki flow is disrupted and are unable to access any of their class features such as but not limited to: Spell casting, Action Surge, Multi-attack, Rage, and Bardic Inspiration. This lasts for for a number of days equal to your Wisdom Modifier (minimum 1) at which they may make another Consitution Saving Throw or reset the duration of the effect. On a success the effect does not take place or ends if they were affected by it before.
