Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

It would be easy to mistake a barbarian who walks the Path of the Whirlwind as a reckless maniac when witnessing the wanton destruction they leave in their wake. Wielding a weapon in each hand and calling upon the ferocious power of the windstorm, they lash out with remarkable speed, carving a path through their enemies and surging past everyone who stands in their way.

Two-Weapon Fighting

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can use two-weapon fighting while raging even when the one-handed melee weapons you are wielding aren't light.

Violent Momentum

At 3rd level, when you are raging and damage a creature with a melee attack, you don't provoke opportunity attacks from that creature for the rest of the turn.

Howling Vortex

Beginning at 6th level, you emanate a whirlwind of howling winds in a 10-foot radius around you while you rage. The wind has the following effects:

  • It deafens you and other creatures in its area.
  • It extinguishes unprotected flames in its area that are torch-sized or smaller.
  • It disperses vapor, gas, and fog, and ends spells such as cloudkill and stinking cloud that it comes in contact with after one round.
  • The attack rolls of ranged weapon attacks have disadvantage if the attacks pass in or out of the wind.

Path of Destruction

At 10th level, you can plow through enemies with incredible ferocity. While you are raging, if you move at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hit it with a melee weapon attack on the same turn, the target takes extra damage of the weapon's damage type equal to half your level and must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus) or be knocked prone.

Unstoppable Force

When you reach 14th level, the intensity of your rage enables you to knock aside foes who stand in your way. When you are raging you can move through a hostile creature's space if it is at least one size larger or smaller than you. When you do so, you can use your bonus action to make a melee attack against the creature.

In addition, when you are raging you can end your movement in another creature's space. When you do so, you make a Strength (Athletics) check contested by the target's Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check (the target chooses the ability to use). You succeed automatically if the target is incapacitated. If you succeed, you push the target 5 feet away from you. If you fail, you move 5 feet back to the space you occupied prior to ending your movement.
