Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

Blight Bringers are considered alchemists, assassins, poisoners, and all many other terms for the same core skill; a master of killing and inflicting. Treading in noxious and toxic lands, Blight Bringers scourer the world for newer and more dangerous concoctions and magic to enhance their weaponry and make them more skilled masters of the hunt. It is very common for Blight Bringers to learn their magic from dealing with Hags or even the Undead. No matter the origin of their craft, or their reasoning for their pursuits, Blight Bringers are often found in places seeping with pestilence, toxicity, or death.

Blight Bringer Magic

Starting at 3rd level, you learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Blight Bringer Spells table. The spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of ranger spells you know.

Blight Bringer Spells

Ranger Level Spell
3rd inflict wounds
5th ray of enfeeblement
9th bestow curse
13th blight
17th antilife shell

Toxic Arsenal

At 3rd level, you gain the ability to poison your attacks with a variety of effects. When you hit a creature with an attack roll, you may force the creature to make a constitution saving throw against your spell DC or suffer an effect of your choice from the following:

  • The creature is stunned until the end of your next turn
  • The creature is poisoned for 1 minute
  • The creature is blind or deafened for 1 minute

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.

Poisoner's Touch

Starting at 3rd level, you always have enough poison on hand. As a bonus action, you can coat your weapons in poison. Until the end of your turn, your weapon attacks deal an additional 1d4 poison or acid damage (your choice when you use the bonus action).

When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can coat your weapons as part of the same bonus action you use to make the attack.

In addition, you gain proficiency with the poisoner's kit.

Corrosive Assault

At 7th level, your attacks corrode through most defenses. Whenever you hit a creature with an attack roll, you ignore any of the creature's damage resistances.

Tainted Weaponry

At 11th level, you can imbue your spellcraft into your weapons. As an action, you can imbue your weapon or a piece of ammunition with one Ranger spell you can cast and expend the chosen spell slot, then make a single attack with that weapon. If that attack hits, the target takes weapon damage and is subject to the effects of the spell. If the attack misses, the spell misses as well. If the attack hits, all spell attack rolls for the imbued spell against the target hit automatically and count as part of the same initial weapon attack. If the attack has advantage, the target’s initial saving throw against the spell has disadvantage.
The spell must be of 1st level or higher, and have a casting time of 1 action, or require an action to activate an already active concentration spell.

Blight Master

At 15th level, your experiments with poison have left you with permanent alterations. You become immune to poison damage and the poisoned condition, as well as gain resistance to acid damage.

In addition, whenever you hit a creature with an attack roll, you may treat the creature as having vulnerability to all of the attack's damage. You may use this ability only once per long rest.
