Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Windrunner have studied to harness the power of gravity, and are able to change it for themselves and other individuals. Monks of this tradition fly towards walls and send enemies falling up towards the ceiling, moving around the battlefield and controlling enemies with blinding speed.
Surgebinding
Starting at 3rd level, you can use your ki to alter gravity for yourself. As a bonus action, you can change which direction is down for you. If you are not already within 5 feet of the chosen wall, ceiling, or other flat surface chosen, you fall towards the surface, which is now the 'floor' for you. You do not take fall damage while using this ability. This ability lasts for 1 minute, or until you are incapacitated.
You can cancel this re-orientation at any time.
If the path you fall through comes withing 5 feet of an enemy, you may take your Attack action as you pass them. If you do so, you may make an additional unarmed strike, but cannot flurry of blows or modify the unarmed strike in any similar way.
If falling in this way makes you pass through the same space as any creature, the creature must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC {{savedc:dex}} ) or take damage equal to your martial arts die.
Cost: 1 Ki point
Wind Soul
At level 6, you can use 2 ki points to cast fly on yourself at 3rd level. You can increase the level of this spell by spending more ki points (2 points per level).
Focused Lashing
Starting at 11th level, you learn how to focus on surgebinding and lashing targets other than yourself. When you successfully hit a creature or object with a melee weapon attack (or touch), you can force the creature to make a Wisdom saving throw (objects automatically fail this saving throw). On a failure, the target becomes reoriented in a direction of your choosing, and falls. The target can make a Wisdom saving throw against this effect at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
The target falls at a speed equal to its movement speed (30 feet if the target has no speed) until it hits a surface, taking 3d6 bludgeoning damage from their fall.
You can lash the same target multiple times, causing them to fall faster, in doing so, their falling speed increases by 10 feet, and the fall damage increases by 1d6 for every additional ki point used past 1.
You can only have two Surgebinder lashings active at any time (including yourself).
One With the Sky
Starting at 17th level, you are able to surgebind targets, including yourself, to a point in space, not just a surface. You must be able to see the focal point of this gravity shift. You can also change the focus point of any surgebind as a free action on your turn.
The number of lashings you are able to maintain increases to 3.
