Base Class: Wizard
Chronomancy is not only a lost art, but also a forbidden one. In almost every culture, even amongst the gods, it is forbidden to tamper with space and time, as it can be volatile and dangerous for those casting and those around. Those who choose to study the ancient School of Chronomancy do so in complete secrecy, usually wishing to undo some mistake they may have made, or rewrite time for their benefit. Whatever the reasoning may be, the reward must be worth the potential risk, for some have traveled down this rabbit hole and have never returned.
Temporal Casting
You have gained the ability to manipulate the time around you to expedite your arcane powers. Starting when you select this school at 2nd level, whenever you cast a spell that has a casting time longer than 1 action, you reduce the time to cast that spell in half.
Distort Time
Starting at 2nd level when you select this school, you have gained the ability to distort time in a small area, but only for a moment. As a reaction when a creature other than yourself makes an ability check, attack roll, or saving throw, you roll a d20 and replace their roll with your own, they must use this new roll. You can use this feature after the creature has rolled but it must be used before you know the result. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier, and regain all expended uses on a long rest.
Improved Temporal Casting
You have improved your casting speeds to another level using the flow of time to assist you. Starting at 6th level, you can cast a spell as a bonus action, you can only use a spell that is normally 1 action for you. You can use this feature twice, and regained expended uses on a short or long rest.
Invertion
You have gained the ability to invert time around a creature and completely undo a single moment of time. Starting at 10th level, as a reaction to seeing a creature take damage, you can invert time around them and reduce the damage taken to zero. Time rewrites itself as if it occurred another way. Once you use this ability, you can't use it again until you take a long rest.
Arcane Paradox
At 14th level, you gain the power and knowledge to send spells backward through time. Your future self is capable of using you as a temporal anchor: a specific, isolated more within the time around which spells can be created.
Temporal Pincer: As a free action, you may have a spell arrive from the future with no discernible source. This may occur on another creature's turn, as though an unseen caster had readied an action. Choose a spell of 1st to 5th level and a casting time of one action or bonus action from the wizard spell list. The effects of the spell occur with no action or component cost required, although you count as the caster of the spell for purposes of range, concentration, and ability scores.
Debt of Disruption: Every effect requires a cause. When a spell arrives from the future, the temporal scales become unbalanced. After using the Temporal Pincer feature, you cause a disruption in the timeline: a spell that you cast needs a promise that a spell will be inverted to rebalance the scales. While you have a temporal debt, you are unable to use the Temporal Pincer ability.
Spell Inversion: During a short or long rest, you can perform an hour-long ritual to invert the chosen spell into the past, thus paying off your debt. At the end of the ritual, you cast the spell as normal, consuming material components and a spell slot of the correct level. The effects of the spell don't occur at the time of casting. If you don't have the ability to cast the spell, you have to prepare, learn, or otherwise acquire the spell before you can perform this ritual.
