Base Class: Monk
Energy flows through all things, whether it be magic or ki, and by observing this flow, monks who follow the Way of the Nomad are able to determine the true nature of their surroundings. By taping into the power of the Weave with their ki, these monks are also able to teleport and move through the spaces between worlds.
Nomads are travelers, explorers, and mystics. They quest to unravel the mysteries of the multiverse and seek to uncover the underlying structure of all magical things.
Sight of the Third Eye
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Arcana and can now use your ki to duplicate the effects of certain spells. As an action you can spend 1 ki point to cast Comprehend Languages, Detect Magic, Detect Thoughts, Identify, Locate Object, or See Invisibility without material components. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Additionally, if any of these spell can be cast as a ritual, you gain the ability to cast those spells as rituals without spending ki points.
Path of a Thousand Steps
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, whenever you hit a creature with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows, you can teleport up to 20 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. If you teleport to a space that is within 5 feet of an enemy, you gain advantage on the next unarmed strike you make against that enemy until the end of your turn.
Sentinel of the Weave
At 6th level, you may use your knowledge of the Weave to counter spells. If you target a person, object, or ongoing magical effect, you may spend 2 ki points to cast Dispel Magic on that target or magical effect as a bonus action, without using material components.
Alternatively, as a reaction when a creature you can see begins to cast a spell, you may spend 2 ki points to cast Counterspell without using material components.
Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Traveler of the Manifold
Starting at 6th level, the flow of ki can mystically move your body without expending your energy. Once on each of your turns, you can forfeit a number of feet of your movement to teleport a number of feet equal to the amount you forfeited. You must teleport to an unoccupied space you can see.
In addition, difficult terrain doesn't slow your group's overland travel.
Transposition of a Pair
Starting at 11th level if you haven’t moved yet on your turn, as a bonus action you can spend 4 ki points to choose one creature you can see within 120 feet of you. The creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Ki save DC. On a failed save, you and that creature teleport, swapping places, and your speed is reduced to 0 until the beginning of your next turn. This ability fails and is wasted if either of you can’t fit in the destination space. Allies can choose to willingly fail this saving throw.
Caravan of Nomads
Starting at 17th level, as an action you may choose up to nine willing creatures that you can see and are within 30 feet of you, and spend 1 ki point for each creature to teleport them along with you to anywhere within your line of sight. Each ally appears within 5 feet of your destination space, with you at the center. If there isn’t an open space for all the targets to occupy at the arrival point, this ability fails and is wasted.
