Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

A Path of Insanity Barbarian gains their rage from their own broken mind. An event in their past, perhaps a traumatic event, or a curse from an evil god has shattered the mind the barbarian's mind allowing them to ignore damage, sacrifice their own lives for their teammates, and release their inner madness to gain incredible strength and durability. Path of Insanity Barbarian's are commonly hard to understand and predict, some even speaking only in gibberish and screams. Some embrace the madness, while other fight against it and try to fit in to society.

Psychotic Mania

Starting at 3rd level, while raging you can let your inner madness take over as you can no longer feel most types of pain. At the beginning of the round you can use your reaction to enter a Psychotic Mania, if you're not already raging this will activate rage as well by using the bonus action of your upcoming turn. During Psychotic Mania, you are immune to Bludgeoning, Slashing, and Piercing, and are resistant to all other damage types other than Psychic. Psychic does full damage but the enemy who does the psychic damage must succeed on a DC 12 wisdom saving throw or be frightened of you for one minute. Psychotic Mania lasts 6 seconds (one round). When Psychotic Mania ends, you take damage equal to 1d4 necrotic damage for every attack or spell that had it's damage to you reduced or eliminated during Psychotic Mania's duration. This increases to 1d8 at 8th level and 1d12 at 14th level.
Psychotic Mania can only be used once per rage.

Sacrificial Insanity

Starting at 6th level, you can use your action to sacrifice yourself to heal a greatly injured ally within 5 feet. If choose to do so, you can heal an ally with 1/4 or less of their maximum HP remaining that isn't unconscious for 2d8 temporary HP while you take 1d8 necrotic damage in return. This increases to 3d8 and 2d8 respectively at 10th level.
Alternatively you can heal an ally that is unconscious for 1d8 real HP while you take 2d8 necrotic damage in return.
The damage you take from Sacrificial Insanity isn't affected by the resistances or immunity's of Rage or Psychotic Mania.

Silence The Voices

Starting at 10th level, the voices inside will attempt to escape damaging you and your enemies. From 10th level on, when you make a melee attack roll, roll 1d10. 6 or lower continue with the attack as normal, 7 or higher add 2d8 damage to the damage of the attack and take 1d8 damage yourself, increasing to 3d8 and 2d8 respectively at 14th level.
The damage you take is the same as the damage type of the weapon you attacked with.
The damage you deal to yourself from Silence The Voices isn't affected by the resistances or immunity's of Rage or Psychotic Mania.

Release The Beast

Starting at 14th level you can use your bonus action to release the madness within. If you choose to do so, both Rage and Psychotic Mania activate simultaneously regardless of if you have rages left. Additionally, when activated if you are at 1/4 or less of your HP maximum, you heal for 1/4 of your HP maximum + 2d8.
If you make a melee attack roll on the turn which Release The Beast is activated, you get advantage on the first melee attack that turn.
Both Psychotic Mania and Rage end when they normally would.
