Base Class: Monk

In this iteration of the sun soul monk, you have an expanded spell list at your disposal along with a few combat tweaks.

Ki Bolt

At 3rd level, you can hurl bolts of magical force. You gain a new ranged spell attack (Range: 30 feet) that deals force damage equal to your martial arts die. You are proficient with it, and you add your Dexterity modifier to its attack and damage rolls.

When you attack, you can spend 1 ki point to make the special attack twice as a bonus action.

When you gain the Extra Attack feature, this special attack can be used for any of the attacks.

Ki Spells

Your advanced knowledge of Ki allows you to manifest it into ki based spells. You gain the ability to cast any evocation, transmutation, or conjugation spells that result in force damage. At your DM's discretion, you can include other spells (such as feather fall or mage armour) that do not fit this criteria but could be flavoured in a way to make it Ki/force related.

You use 2 Ki points for each spell slot (1 for cantrips).

Ki Burst

At 11th level, you can create an orb of force that erupts into a devastating explosion. As an action, you magically create an orb and hurl it at a point you choose within 120 feet, where it erupts into a 20 foot sphere of bright light for a brief but deadly instant.

Each creature in that 20-foot-radius sphere must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 2 martial arts die of force damage. On a success, the creature takes half damage. A creature doesn’t need to make the save if the creature is behind total cover that is opaque.

Each additional Ki point you spend, to a maximum of 3, increases the damage by 2 martial arts die and radius by 5 feet.

Spell Expansion

Through extended training and focus, your body has acclimatized to using other types of magical Ki. Choose one of the following:
- Acid+Poison 
- Cold
- Fire 
- Lightning+Thunder 
- Necrotic
- Psychic 
- Radiant 

You can now cast evocation, conjuration, and transmutation spells of that damage type.
You can also change the damage of any of your ki attacks, such as Ki Bolt or Ki Burst, to this type.
At your DM's discretion, you can include other spells that do not fit this criteria but could be flavoured in a way to make it Ki/elementally related. (e.g. Necrotic - False Life or Healing Word, Psychic - Charm Person, Suggestion, etc)

Two Ki points are consumed per spell slot (1 for cantrips).

Spell Expansion - 2

Through extended training and focus, your body has acclimatized to using other types of magical Ki. Choose another one of the following:
- Acid+Poison
- Cold
- Fire
- Lightning+Thunder
- Necrotic
- Psychic
- Radiant.

You can now cast evocation, conjuration, and transmutation spells of that damage type.
