Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Paladins of Tempus are well-known for their aggressive approaches against sinners and out-worldly intruders. The spark-like Smite is their signature characteristic. While other paladins try to go around the straight solution or become too insensitive against the types of the foes, Oath of Smite Paladin's versatile smite options bring justice in any way the fastest.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Smiting Burst. As an action, you can use your weapon to mark a point within the range to drop a spark of divine power that explodes on impact. All creatures of your choice in 10-foot radius must roll a charisma savings throw. Any creatures who fail the savings throw must take the damage from your Divine Smite, and half the damage if successful. The damage is equal to the Divine Smite used with your highest spell slot.

Indiscriminative Smite. As a bonus action, you can focus on Smiting against your foes for 1 minute. When you use your Divine Smite, you can choose to cast one of your smite spells instead. For the duration of this ability, you smite spells don't require concentration.

Smite Versatility

By 7th level, you honed your smiting maneuver to such extent that Unarmed Strikes, Melee Weapon Attacks, and Ranged Weapon Attacks are now qualified for Divine Smites and Smite Spells. If you gain more levels in this class and get access to Improved Divine Smite, this rule will apply.

Smite of Fury

Starting at 15th level, your Channel Divinity empowers your smiting abilities. While you are in effect of Channel Divinity, if your attack roll is natural 19 or 20, your smites will do maximum damage to the target, and the target must roll with disadvantage if the effect of smite requires the target to make savings throw.

The High Templar

At 20th level, you can assume the form of a righteous fury. Using your action, you undergo a transformation. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:

  • Your Divine Smite and Smite Spells don't consume spell slots.
  • You emanate an aura of divine energy in a 30-foot radius. Your allies within this aura can use Divine Smite as part of their weapon attack at the lowest level once per turn without consuming spell slot.
  • If an enemy falls 0 hp or become incapiciated by your smite or smite spells, a spark leaps toward your choice of enemy within 15-foot of primary target and causes the same damage of the previous smite or smite spells.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
