Base Class: Monk
Some monks wear long quilted cloth wraps that are looped around their arms, legs, hands, body and feet. Some believe that it reminds the monk of breaking the bondage from their pre-monastic life, others believe it represents the long road that the monk must walk (or have already walked). Each monk has their own reasons for wearing them. Monks that follow the Way of Living Wrappings wear them as a tool, a weapon and armor. They treat the Wrappings as extensions of their body, and being one with their mind and body, these monks have learned to infuse their Wrappings with their ki to do extraordinary things.
Apprentice of Wrappings
Starting at 3rd level you have learned the trick to infusing your quilted Wrappings with your ki, causing them to come alive. They are extensions of your body, although you are still learning how to control their potential. As an action, you can spend 2 ki to infuse your Wrappings but it requires concentration to maintain the Living Wrappings. The ability remains active for 10 minutes or until you lose concentration. These abilities increase as your mastery in these arts increases.
- You can use your Wrappings to lift and manipulate things from a distance. You must have a line of effect for the Wrappings to reach, as they are doing the manipulation, and the maximum range is 15’. This acts as the mage hand cantrip.
- Your Wrappings act as extra, although rather clumsy, hands. You gain advantage on acrobatics checks to grapple.
- Your Wrappings give you advantage on climb checks.
- Your unarmed attacks can be made at a 15’ range or closer. These are your standard monk unarmed attacks and abilities like flurry of blows work as normal.
- Your Wrappings provide extra protection in vulnerable spots. You gain a +2 to your armor class when unarmored and not wearing a shield.
Monk of Living Wrappings
Starting at 6th level your control over your Wrappings improves.
- Wrapping Pull Attack - You can replace an unarmed attack with a special Wrapping pull attack. Make an unarmed attack as normal at a target (creature or object) within 15’. If you hit a creature, they must make a strength check against a difficulty check dependent on it’s size. A small or medium creature makes a check versus DC 15, a large creature against DC 10, a huge creature against DC 5. If the creature fails it’s save it gets pulled 10’ closer to you. If you target an object, you are pulled towards the object 10’. You Wrapping releases it’s grip as a free action. No damage is done with this attack. This attack can be used to replace multiple attacks per round, including flurry of blows attacks.
- Wrapping Trip Attack - You can replace an unarmed attack with a special Wrapping trip attack. Make an unarmed attack as normal at a creature. The creature must make a dexterity saving throw DC 15 or be knocked prone. This attack can be used to replace multiple attacks per round, including flurry of blows attacks.
- Your Wrappings provide extra protection in vulnerable spots. You gain a +4 to your armor class when unarmored and not wearing a shield. This does not stack with previous similar abilities.
- Web of Wrappings (minor) - You spin your Living Wrappings into a defensive web around you. Enemies have disadvantage on ranged physical attacks made against you.
- Meditation (minor) - Your familiarity with the concentration to maintain your Living Wraps increases. You gain a +2 on concentration checks to maintain your Living Wrappings.
Master of Wrappings
Starting at 11th level your control over your Wrappings improves.
- Wrapping Climb - You gain mastery of your Living Wrappings. You now gain a climb speed equal to your walking speed as long as your Living Wrappings are manifested.
- Your Wrappings provide extra protection in vulnerable spots. You gain a +6 to your armor class when unarmored and not wearing a shield. This does not stack with previous similar abilities.
- Web of Wrappings (moderate) - You spin your Living Wrappings into a defensive web around you. Enemies have disadvantage on ranged magical attacks made against you. This only works on attacks targeting only you.
- Meditation (minor) - Your familiarity with the concentration to maintain your Living Wraps increases. You gain a +4 on concentration checks to maintain your Living Wrappings.
Scion of Wrappings
Starting at 17th level your control over your Wrappings improves.
- Wrapping Lift - You are a Scion with your Living Wrappings. You can lift and manipulate objects of a much larger size. By expending 5 ki points, you can, as an action cast the telekinesis spell. Your caster level is your monk level for the purposes of this spell, and your wisdom is your spellcasting ability. The 15’ range of your Wrappings still limits the spell. This spell has no verbal components.
- Your Wrappings provide extra protection in vulnerable spots. You have a 50% chance to turn a critical hit against you into a normal hit.
- Web of Wrappings (major) - You spin your Living Wrappings into a defensive web around you. Enemies have disadvantage on melee attacks made against you.
- Meditation (major) - Your familiarity with the concentration to maintain your Living Wraps increases. You gain a +6 on concentration checks to maintain your Living Wrappings.
- Enduring Wrappings - Your Living Wrappings ability now lasts for 1 hour or until you lose your concentration.
