Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Spell Mimics are highly impressionable sorcerers. They are usually young, still learning to cast magic by copying others, having yet to specialize in anything. Spell Mimics are especially common in Changelings, learning to replicate spells as well as faces. The origins of Spell Mimics are uncertain, but most theorize that they possess a raw form of magic, malleable to any spell.

Copy Spells

At 1st level, you learn to replicate spells just by watching them. For one minute, you can add any spell you witnessed within the last day to your spell list as a bonus action. You must have spell slots high enough for the spell to copy it. This counts as a sorcerer spell to you. This does not count against your spells known. You can only copy one spell at a time. Attempting to copy another will replace your current copied spell.

Proper Plagiarism

At 6th level, you gain better control of the spells you copy. You can permanently add one spell to your spell list. To do so, you must have been under the effects of the spell in the last week. You must spend 2 hours of practice to copy the spell. The spell must be one that you have spell slots for. It counts as a sorcerer spell to you. This does not count against your spells known. You can remove this spell when you level up, allowing you to copy a different one. The number of spells you can permanently copy increases to two at 11th level.

Replicate Magic

At 14th level, your spell copying abilities apply to enchantments as well. You can copy the effect of a magic item in your possession and place it on a nonmagical equivalent, effectively doubling the item. The item must be of uncommon rarity or lower. You can only create one magical item in this way at a time. Using this ability again will disenchant the previous item.

Magic Mirror

At 18th level, your ability to mirror other spellcasters becomes almost instinctive. When a creature targets a spell on you, you can use your reaction to copy the spell and cast it back at them. (You are still targeted and potentially affected by the original spell). This spell does not apply to your Copy Spells feature and is forgotten right after it is cast. The spell you cast is at the same level or higher than the target. You must have the spell slots required to use this reaction. This counts as a sorcerer spell to you. This does not count against your spells known. You can use this feature 2 times per long rest. Copying a cantrip does not consume a use.
