Base Class: Warlock
At the heart of the planes lies a secret library, mystically linked to all other libraries in existence. All lost books, lost forgotten knowledge, and obscure secrets find their way to the Archive Obscura. Wayward researchers, restless students, or avid readers occasionally take a wrong turn and step from their library into this demiplane. The Archive Obscura is unsettling and mazelike, with bookshelves that stretch upwards as far as the eye can see, and stacks that twist and turn back on themselves. The halls of the Archive Obscura are not empty. A grim Librarian haunts the endless stacks, an imposing silent figure in a hooded cloak, who guides books to their shelves with but a gesture. His displeasure means death, madness, or worse.
Some visitors to the Archive find favor with the Librarian. Whether out of pity, boredom, or some less mortal emotion, those chosen by the Librarian receive certain gifts. They may find their way back again at unexpected times, be granted special tomes of magic, or even develop fantastic power. The price and purpose of these gifts are unclear. Maybe the Librarian seeks to impose its will on the world out the Archive, groom a successor, or perhaps it is simply lonely.

Hush
Starting at 1st level, as an action you can surround yourself in a cloak of quiet that extends 15 feet in every direction and moves with you. For 1 minute all sounds in the area are reduced to the level of a whisper. Add (CHA + proficiency mod) to Stealth checks by you and your allies in this area. Additionally, hostile creatures that can hear are unnerved by the silence and have disadvantage on their first attack roll in this area. You regain the use of this feature after a short or long rest.
Book Master
Also at 1st level, when you touch a book, you instantly know who wrote it, how old it is, what the topic is, and if it is magical or otherwise unusual. You can read any book, even if it is a language you do not know. Once per day, you can spend 1 minute to internalize the knowledge of a book, gaining proficiency in either History, Investigation, Medicine, Nature, Religion or Survival for 1 hour. The skill you can learn from a book depends on its topic and is at the DM's discretion. Some books may be devoid of learnable skills.
Curse of Knowledge
Starting at 6th level, you may place your curse upon a creature you can see in 60 ft as a bonus action, reading them like an open book. This curse lasts for 1 minute and if the target dies can be moved to a new target as a bonus action. You have advantage on all Saving Throws prompted by this creature and advantage on Insight and Investigation checks against them. The first time you deal damage each turn to the cursed target, they take 2d4 additional psychic damage. This damage increases to 3d4 at 10th level. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your CHA modifier, regaining uses on a long rest.
Archive Access
At 10th level you gain access to the Archive Obscura. Once per day, you can use your action to make a mundane door you touch a portal to the Archive for yourself and up to 6 other creatures you choose. The portal closes as soon as you enter. You can stay in the Archive for up to 1 hour. If you leave willingly, you and all that came with you exit out of any door you have seen in the last 24 hours within 10 miles of your original location, or any library you have visited regardless of distance.
The Archive Obscura has several unique properties: Resting is not possible in the Archive. Magical effects that lower a creature's Intelligence end immediately on entering. Anyone in the Archive can attempt an Investigation roll to find a book on a particular topic and the results determine how useful it is: 5-10, no useful information. 11-15, minor information. 16-20, useful information. 21+, relevant secrets known only to a few. Rolling less than 5 or harming a book in any way unleashes the anger of the Librarian, inflicting 3d4 psychic damage. Anyone who stays more than an hour or angers the Librarian is expelled out the door they entered.
Form of the Librarian
At 14th level, you can manifest an aspect of the dread Librarian of the Archive Obscura. As an action once per day, your body is surmounted by the semi-translucent image of the Librarian and you gain the following benefits for 1 minute:
- You levitate as if the subject of the Levitate spell.
- Your Hush class feature activates automatically, even if you have no uses left.
- You have resistance to all damage types except psychic and force.
- As a bonus action, you can touch a creature and impart knowledge, giving it 1d8 to add to an attack roll or ability check.
- You can attack with the Librarian's spectral hands. You roll to attack with your spell casting modifier, have a range of 10 feet, deal 1d10 + CHA force damage, and can attack up to three times per attack action.
