Bracer Crossbow Wielder

Whether in the military or just around a bowyer, you have spent a lot of time around crossbows of all types.  Your artificer’s eye found a way to improve the standard crossbow.  You have designed and crafted a bracer crossbow that mechanically loads and propels the bolt from a special cartridge towards your enemy.  

New Designs and Prototypes

Starting At 3rd level, you have created a design for a bracer crossbow and specialty bolt cartridge.  Your Bracer Crossbow is a rigid crossbow that slides over your hand and up onto your arm.  Your prototype Bracer Crossbow is free, any future ones cost 150 gold and require a craft DC 20 check.  You design a Bolt Cartridge which is a circular cartridge that slides over your hand and snaps into your Bracer Crossbow.  You first two prototype Bolt Cartridges are free.  Any future cartridges cost 20 gold each (and that doesn’t include the cost of the bolts that are loaded into it), which takes a craft DC 15 check.  Each Bolt Cartridge holds 8 crossbow bolts.  Reload of a cartridge takes 1 bonus action.  Time to reload a cartridge with 8 bolts is 1 minute (resetting springs and the like).  Your Bracer Crossbow acts as a hand crossbow for distances and properties but without the loading property.  You are proficient with your Bracer Crossbow.

Improved Bracer

You improve your Bracer Crossbow design.  Starting at 5th level,  your Bracer Crossbow can shoot further.  Double both of the hand crossbows range categories.  Add your intelligence modifier to your damage rolls in addition to your Dexterity modifier.  You learn how to use your intelligence to improve your trajectories allowing you to add your intelligence modifier to your dexterity modifier on Attack rolls.  Your Bracer Crossbow not critical son a natural roll of 19 or 20.  

Bracer Use

Starting at 9th level you can make 2 attacks as part of the Attack action.  This increases to 3 attacks per Attack action at level 15.

Dual Shot

You have learned how to shoot accurately with two Bracer Crossbows at once.  Starting at 15th level you can use a bonus action to attack twice with your offhand Bracer Crossbow.  You add your Intelligence and Dexterity modifiers to the attacks and damage as you do with your prime hand.  When you infuse your Bracer Crossbow you can infuse both with the same single infusion expenditure.
