Cleric
Base Class: Cleric

To a cleric of the Dream domain, sleep is often as real as waking. Such clerics seek peace above all, giving rest to the weary, standing between warring armies, and silencing the monsters of darkness, especially aberrations. Their constant connection to the dream-world lets them weave the threads of thoughts and visions, flooding the minds of friend and enemy with the softest sleep or the sharpest nightmare. Deities of dreams are often associated with peace (as is Eldath) or night (as is Sehanine).

[Recent edits to the subclass: the Channel Divinity option now only restores hit dice spent in a single short rest, not all hit dice. The spell list has been slightly edited, adding a couple more illusion spells.]

Bonus Cantrip

When you choose this domain at 1st level, you learn the minor illusion cantrip. It is a cleric cantrip for you.

Dream Without Sleeping

Also starting at 1st level, you can draw a blanket of dreams over your allies as you meditate. If you or any friendly creatures within 30 feet regain hit points by spending Hit Dice at the end of a short rest, each of those creatures regains 1 extra hit point per hit die spent.

Channel Divinity: Deepest Sleep

Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to pull your allies into a restful trance.

At the beginning of a short rest, you present your holy symbol and whisper a divine lullaby that glows through the minds of up to five creatures you choose within 30 feet. After the end of the short rest, each chosen creature regains all Hit Dice spent during that short rest.

Passing Dream

Starting at 6th level, you can center your spirit in the dream-world with a single still breath. As a bonus action, you can spend any number of Hit Dice to regain hit points, as you would during a short rest.

Potent Spellcasting

Starting at 8th level, you add your Wisdom modifier to the damage you deal with any cleric cantrip.

Dreamcatcher

Starting at 17th level, your very heart beats with the ebb and flow of dreams. When you or any friendly creature within 30 feet of you rolls one or more dice to regain hit points by spending Hit Dice, instead use the highest number possible for each die. For example, instead of regaining 2d6 hit points, regain 12.

Dream Domain Spells

Once you reach the indicated levels, you always have these spells prepared.

1st level: silent image, sleep

3rd level: calm emotions, phantasmal force

5th level: catnap, hypnotic pattern

7th level: divination, phantasmal killer

9th level: dream, greater restoration
