Disruptive Studies

The world is an unpredictable, chaotic place... One never knows how their studies will be disrupted next.

Roll a d20. Rolling an 11 or higher, halves the time you must spend to copy a spell into your spellbook is halved. Rolling a 10 or lower, halves the cost you must spend to copy a spell into your spellbook.

Disruptive Shielding

When you choose this school at 2nd level, you learn the blade ward cantrip. If you already know this cantrip, you learn a different wizard cantrip of your choice. The cantrip doesn’t count against your number of cantrips known.

You can now target a friendly creature with this spell, as long as it is within 30 feet of you and you can see it. The effect lasts until the end of the creature’s next turn.

Augmented Disruption

At 6th level, you add counterspell and dispel magic to your spellbook, if they are not there already. You can cast counterspell or dispel magic without expending a spell slot once. When you cast either in this way, you add your proficiency bonus to the ability check (if necessary). Once you cast either spell in this way, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest, though you can still cast them normally using an available spell slot.

Disruptive Backlash

Beginning at 10th level, when you interrupt a spell from being cast or lessen the damage of a weapon attack onto a friendly creature, causes the attacker to take force damage equal to your half your wizard level (rounded up). This effect can only occur once during the turn of the creature triggering this effect.

Disruptive Larceny

Starting at 14th level, you can store magical energy within yourself to later restore spell slots. In its stored form, this energy is called a spell mote.

You can store three spell motes. Whenever you finish a long rest, your number of spell motes resets to zero. Whenever you successfully end a 5th level spell or higher with dispel magic or counterspell, you gain one spell mote, as you steal magic from the spell you foiled. When you possess three spell motes, your arcane recovery feature becomes empowered, allowing you to recover spell slots up to and including 6th level.

Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.
