Base Class: Paladin
The Oath of Truth is a difficult path for paladins to walk, and many fall into their own doubts and become oathbreakers. Those who are able to accept that truth, regardless of it desired or not, become immovable objects of good that cast open the curtains of falsehood and doubt. The ability of these paladins to uncover hidden information draws many benefactors to ask for their aid, and many a just king or queen have been served well by them in purging their courts of spies and deceivers.
Tenets of Truth
When a paladin decides to take the tenets of the Oath of Truth, they do so understanding that they forever carry a burden to see both the light and dark of the world’s souls.
Truth is Absolute. The truth is set in stone and cannot be changed upon a whim. Those who seek to change the truth only hide darkness in their hearts.
Conviction banishes Doubt. Doubt is a false sickness that obscures thought, emotion, and action. Only by stalwart conviction can it be cured.
Reveal the False. Darkness taints the land when those who practice deception have power. Bring truth to those who need it and tear down the oppressor.
Belief in the Self. The inner voice of our mind is truth bared to our own thoughts. To ignore yourself is to deny truth and invite doubt and darkness.

Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the two following Channel Divinity options.
Discern Lies. You can use your Channel Divinity to peer past any veil of deceit. As an action, you gain advantage on all Wisdom (Insight) and Intelligence (Investigation) checks for 1 minute. Additionally, you may use your Charisma ability score when making an Insight or Investigation skill check.
Extract Truth. You can use your Channel Divinity to learn the truth about a creature. As an action, you can force a creature within 30 feet of you to make a Charisma saving throw. On a failure, the creature is considered to be under the effects of the Zone of Truth spell. Attacks against the target have advantage while it is under the effects of the spell. When the target is dealt damage from an attack it can remake the saving throw to resist the effect.
Aura of Revelation
Starting at 7th level, you emit an aura that reveals the weak points in an enemy’s defenses. Your attacks against enemies within 10 feet of you are unable to gain disadvantage. Creatures of your choice that are within the aura also gain this benefit.
At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.
Eyes of Scrutiny
Starting at 15th level, you gain Truesight out to a range of 15 feet. Creatures that you can see with this sense have disadvantage on Charisma (Deception) checks.
Archon of Truth
At 20th level, you have learned to embody the divine words of truth in your physical form. As an action, you can magically transform into a magical avatar for 1 minute and gain the following benefits.
- You and any allies within 30 feet cannot be critically hit.
- Your attacks and spells ignore a creature’s damage resistances or immunities.
- You can use an action to dispel the effects of any illusion magic of 5th level or lower that you can see.
Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you may do so again.
