Monk
Base Class: Monk

Way of the Indomitable Might teaches it’s disciples how to harness the raw strength that hibernates in us all. By achieving a perfect balance between mind and body an statue, as the devotees of this order are known as, can put mind over body to push their forms to the ultimate physical limit. Utter dominating strength does take a toll on the statue body, but as they continue to grow and nurture their bodies to pique physical perfection their abilities are boundless.

Statue are often overlooked as the toughest one or underestimated in a fight, but when their true power shines everyone friend or foe quakes in their boots.

Combat Focus

At 3rd level, your mastery and control over your muscles have increased the impact of your domination on the battlefield, allowing you to quickly pummel enemies with brute force.  Whenever you spend a ki point to use Step of Wind you can spend two ki points instead to make an unarmed attack as a part of that action too.

In addition whenever you make an unarmed attack in this way you can add both your Dexterity and Strength modifiers to the damage roll.

Stoic Demeanor

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Athletics and Intimidation skill if you don’t already have it. Your stunning, bulging muscles and gleaming sweat is enough to strike fear into any foe.

Arcane Resilience

Starting at 3rd level your martial power and raw physical strength have always been the grandest foe against the trained mind and magic. In order to defend yourself from the arcane combatants your body has tuned itself in to the energy of arcana. You can now add your proficiency modifier to saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Muscle Exertion

Starting at 6th level, you can unleash a portion of the raw power contained within. As a bonus action on your turn you can transform your body into a straining powerhouse of pure unadulterated strength and vast less wisdom.

While in this form you gain the following benefits if you aren’t wearing armor.

  • You have resistance to bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing damage from non-magical weapons.
  • Your unarmed attacks have advantage.
  • You have advantage on saves against spells and other magical effects.
  • If you are smaller than Large, you become Large along with anything you are wearing. If you lack the room to become Large, your size doesn't change.
  • You can spend 3 ki points to have your unarmed attacks deal additional damage equal to your monk level.

If you are able to cast spells, you can’t cast them or concentrate on them while using Muscle Exertion.

Your exertion lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you aren't attacked by a hostile creature on your turn, or are knocked unconscious. You can also end your exertion whenever you want on your turn. When your Muscle Exertion ends for any reason, you suffer 1 level of exhaustion.

Once you have exerted the number of times shown for your monk level, you must finish a long rest before you can exert again. Once at 6th level, twice at 11th level, and three times at 15th level.

At 17th level, you no longer suffer exhaustion from muscle exertion.

Improved Fists

At 6th level, with experience in honing your fighting capabilities and unmatched power, your body is now capable of dealing further harm. Your unarmed attacks now score a critical hit on a 19 or 20.

Draining Stature

Beginning at 11th level, you emanate a frightful, will sapping aura around you while you are in Muscle Exertion. The aura extends out 15 feet in all directions, but not through total cover.

Whenever a creature enters the aura for the first time or begins their turn in it, they must immediately make a Wisdom saving throw (DC equals 8 + proficiency bonus + strength modifier) or be frightened of you. While frightened in this way a creature in the aura has its speed reduced to 0 and it can't take reactions. A frightened creature can keep making this saving throw at the end of their turn to end the effect.

Physique Siphon

Starting at 17th level, you have gained the physical prowess enough to have your body siphon the strength from other living creatures who oppose your might.

As an action on your turn, you can spend 6 ki points to make a special unarmed attack that deals an additional 10d10 necrotic damage against a creature, and reduces its maximum hit points by the amount taken, until it finishes a long rest. If a creature's maximum hit points is reduced to 0 by this attack it is instead reduced to 1 and its speed is reduced to 0 as well. The creature’s strength score is also reduced by 1d4 for 10 minutes. If the creature’s strength score becomes 0, it instantly dies. Once a creature is hit by this attack it is immune to all of its effects for 24 hours.

Mind Over Matter

Starting at 17th level, your body and mind have reached an echelon of unrivaled might and meditation. You no longer suffer exhaustion from muscle exertion.
