Base Class: Monk
Your meditations have brought you to the threshold of a vast web that magic users call the weave. However, you see no man made phenomenon in this but the delicate work of a spider. As you consider the arachnid your martial art begins to imitate it in various ways. Where possible you restrain an enemy first, let them walk into your ambush, keep your distance from something if it can hurt you. Unlike other traditions yours makes an effort to utilize modern technologies.
Arachnid's Weaponry
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can manipulate your ki into tools allowing you to craft and maintain new weapons which imitate arachnids. You gain the following benefits:
- You have proficiency with tinkerer's tools which allow you to craft your gadget-bracer, you also gain proficiency with grappling hooks;
- Step of the Wind allows you to hide as a bonus action, grants you a climbing speed equal to your movement, and triples your jump distance;
- You have proficiency in darts and nets as monk weapons, you also gain proficiency with the whip as a monk weapon;
- Instead of an unarmed strike you can now use Arachnid Volley to throw darts.
Webs of the Spider
At 6th level, attempts to grapple utilize dexterity and have proficiency. Additionally, you can now grapple using a whip. Additionally, you have developed a compact net capsule which can be fired from your gadget bracer. The nets have to be crafted by you and the process requires your ki:
- 1 net costs 1gp and 5sp to make, over a 4 hour period;
- Their DC to break out of is now 15;
- They now have resistance to slashing damage due to your ki and they have an AC of 14 and 12 Hit Points;
- Your gauntlet holds 1 at this level, 2 at 10th, 3 at 14th, and 4 at 18th.
Movement of Eight Legs
By studying how spiders move you can shift your ki to allow yourself to climb any surface. Using Step of the Wind allows you to move upside-down. Additionally you calculate jump distance with dexterity instead of strength.
Furthermore, when using you grapple cable, net launcher, or darts to attack you can use the stunning strike feature with these.
Spider's Feast
Your ki infused nets and whip allow you to draw the strength of another person from their body and replenish your own power much like a spider feasting on its prey. You regain hit points equal to your wisdom modifier + 1d4 when an enemy falls unconscious while grappled, or restrained by you or a net. Additionally, you regain one ki point for every enemy.
