Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Secrets and hidden knowledge have power, this is a well known thing across the world, but nowhere is it better known than by these wizards. To them, secrets have literal arcane power that can be harnessed and sharpened into a fine blade that can be used to pry for even more secrets. Often times these wizards find themselves in the company of crime lords and devils who can give them unknowable secrets, for a price.

Extract Secret

Beginning at 2nd level, you are able to take the arcane energy that flows through the secrets in your mind and power your spells with their unknown power. As an action, you can infuse a spell that uses a spell attack with secretive knowledge from your mind or from a number of your known secrets in your book. When you do this 1d6 + your wizard level psychic damage is added to the spell’s damage and you are able to extract a single secret from any creature that knows and can speak a language with an intelligence of 8 or higher. When you do this you gain one secret from the target if your spellbook can still contain more secrets. You can also gain secrets by interacting with people or learning secrets in ways other than this ability.

You can use this once if you have no secrets in your spellbook. But if you use one or multiple secrets to increase the damage done by 1d6, when you do this, a secret cannot be used to add damage until you finish a short or long rest.

Learner of Secrets

You gain proficiency in Insight and Persuasion, and additionally, any secret that you learn can be copied into your spellbook, without use of the extract secret ability, automatically. Any secret that is held within the spellbook cannot be forgotten, even if the book is not on your person. You can remove secrets from the book by removing the arcane wording and magic within the words, removing secrets takes an hour. Doing this makes the secret as strong as a normal memory without any magical potential.

Your book can hold secrets up to two times your proficiency bonus.

Confidential Magic

Starting at 6th level, Your knowledge of secrets has allowed you to learn magic outside of the normal portfolio normally available to you, you have the ability to add the spell lists of 3rd level or lower to the wizard spell list from one other Spellcasting class. Spells gained through this method count as wizard spells, but do count against the amount of wizard spells known.

Boon of Secrets

Beginning at 10th level, as an action, you can transfer the magic from the secrets known in your spellbook to heal your wounds. You can select one or more secrets in your book and heal yourself for 2d6 + your intelligence modifier hit points. If there are any remaining hit points they become temporary hit points that last for minutes equal to your wizard level.

Once you use a secret for this ability, that secret cannot be used for this or any other ability for a short or long rest.

Secrets of the Void

Starting at 14th level, your search for knowledge has gotten so vast and filled with arcane influence that you can look into the ethereal plane and gather its secrets. By focusing for a minute, you can peer into the ethereal plane and gather one “void secret”. Void secrets can be used as the equivalent of three normal secrets, or with additional effects:

  • You can expend one void secret to regain one spell slot of any level as an action
  • You can expend one void secret to deal an extra 5d10 psychic damage with your next spell attack.
  • You can expend two void secrets and infuse one weapon, piece of armor, or shield with a spell that has 1d4 charges of that spell.
  • You can expend two void secrets and cast one spell of 6th level or lower from any Spellcasting table.
  • You can expend three void secrets to make all normal secrets that were unusable, usable again.
  • You can expend three void secrets to extend the bonus of your secrets to one creature within 50 feet. of you that you can see.

Once a void secret is used up, it cannot be regained. You can only gain void secrets by spending a minute concentrating on your own secrets. You can have up to 6 void secrets at a time.
