Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Some beings exist at the very maw of utter destruction, total oblivion, or simply in a state of perpetually unmaking the universe. These destroyers can have a corrupting influence all their own which may creep in to the souls of those who have utterly lost faith in the world, causing them to also seek and promote an agenda of absolute annihilation. Maybe they make a pact with this destructive entity, or likely they are simply possessed of an ultimately uncaring and apathetic nihilism, in which they only seek to end it all, but any which way, these people are often completely insane, and they gain in power with the greater havoc and destruction they wreak on the world around them.

In Avalestra, there is a massive super-entity of cosmological devastation that has been witnessed in the farthest stars. Its advance is terrible and swift, and it is carving a swath of sheer obliviation and nothingness as it careens toward the cosmological Wheel of Planes. It has an identity and a name all its own, known to those few who have witnessed it and not spiraled completely into madness as Oblivion the Annihilator. A faceless, shapeless, self-aware, star-eating monstrosity, Oblivion's path is inevitably leading it on a collision course with Avalestra's star, Solian. When it inevitably arrives, Avalestra must find some way to fend it off, or be consumed with utter destruction and the unmaking of reality itself. These Warlocks, however, will do all in their power to work in tandem with the destroyer Oblivion, and they are enemies of all that exist.

Expanded Spell List

The Oblivion lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Oblivion Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spells
1st  chaos bolt, inflict wounds
2nd  dragon's breath, scorching ray
3rd   elemental weapon, spirit guardians
4th   black tentacles, vitriolic sphere
5th   cloudkill, destructive wave

Destructive Urge

At 1st level, you learn to harness inner destructive tendencies to enhance your spells. Whenever you cast a spell that deals acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder damage, you may substitute that damage for necrotic damage instead. Additionally, once on each of your turns, when you would deal necrotic damage with a spell, you may add bonus necrotic damage equal to your proficiency modifier to that damage.

Yearning for Nothingness

At 6th level, you learn to manifest your desire to destroy into a palpable force which actually destroys objects. As an action, choose a number of 5 x 5 x 5 cubes equal to your proficiency bonus. All plant matter (but not plant creatures) and all non-living, non-magical matter in each of the cubes is reduced to fine ash in moments by the force of your will. Only unattended items can be affected in this way, as this feature has no effect on any item another creature is standing on, holding on to, carrying, pushing, pulling, or dragging. If this ability is used on the ground, targeting cubes of earth, soil, or ground materials to destroy multiple small sections of it, it turns each cube affected into difficult terrain. This feature is usable a number of times per day equal to your Charisma modifier before you must finish a long rest to use it again.

Obliviator's Accord

At 10th level, you are capable of entering into an incoherent mystical bond with your patron which causes you to be able to channel raw destructive magic in powerful surges. You enter into a destructive form in which you gain the following benefits as a bonus action:

- you gain resistance to necrotic and cold damage.
- you gain temporary hit points equal to your Warlock level.
- whenever you cast a spell that deals necrotic damage, you may cause yourself to temporarily decrease your hit point maximum by 1 hit point. If you do so, you add 1d6 to the damage that spell deals. You may decrease your hit point maximum for the use of this feature and gain bonus damage dice no more times than your proficiency modifier for any one spell you cast. This decrease in your hit point maximum remains until you finish a long rest.

This destructive form lasts for a number of minutes equal to your Charisma modifier, and you may enter this form once before you must finish a short rest to use it again.

Annhilation Wave

At 14th level, you gain the ability to unleash a horrifying wave of annihilation which renders the world and its creatures to ash and dust. As an action, you emit a 30 ft cone of hissing purplish energy. The targets affected can be creatures, objects, or creations of magical force, such as the wall created by wall of force.

A creature targeted by this feature must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the target takes 10d6 + 40 force and necrotic damage. The target is disintegrated if this damage leaves it with 0 hit points.

A disintegrated creature and everything it is wearing and carrying, except magic items, are reduced to a pile of fine gray dust. The creature can be restored to life only by means of a true resurrection or a wish spell.

This feature automatically disintegrates a Large or smaller nonmagical object or a creation of magical force. If the target is a Huge or larger object or creation of force, this spell disintegrates portions of it that were within the cone's area, but not any portion outside the 30 foot cone. A magic item is unaffected by this spell.

You may use this feature once before you must finish a long rest to use it again. If you roll initiative and have no uses of this feature remaining, you may choose to reduce your hit point maximum by 10 points and regain a use of this feature. You may not reduce your hit point maximum again for this feature until you finish a long rest. This loss of your hit point maximum is restored when you complete a long rest.
