Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Your patron is a Dreameater. Dreameater are spirit beings of the Plane of Dreams banished to the material plane, which seek out those with nightmares, dreams and ambition, to offer power and relief for servitude. Their goals can be manifold, some gluttons craving nothing but more dreams to devour, others schemers hunting for the perfect dream or dreamer, some rejecting their dreamfocussed nature are much more interested in the events around them. Either way one is for sure they grow stronger with each dream.

The Powers a Dreameater grants are closely related to sleep, dreams and the fact that your Patron feeds on your dreams, severing you from the Plane of Dreams.

No Rest For The Wicked

Starting at 1-st level when you take this subclass your Patron starts feeding on your dreams, severing you from the Plane of Dreams. You dont sleep anymore like other creatures do, instead you are efficiently resting taking only half the time another creature would to gain the benefits of a long rest. You can extend this feature to a number of other creatures equal to your proficiency bonus allowing your patron to feast on their dreams aswell. Beings beside you are only temporarly severed from the Plane of Dreams. Additionally you have advantage against being put to sleep by magic and you are immune to spells or magical effects that require you to dream, like the spell dream.

Search, Dream, Eat

Dreams are always a reflection of the emotions, experiences, ambitions and needs of the creature that dreams them. Your patron an ancient spirit has eaten, is eating and will eat countless dreams granting it vast possible knowledge of things all over the material plane it is on. Starting with lvl 6 and at the DMs option it can communicate some of this knowledge with you if it seems and sees fit. Additionally you are able to send your Patron out to eat someones dreams specifically. Your Patron can search and eat the dreams of a creature on the same plane of existance of you, that you have personally seen or met. Once you decide on a target your Patron will go out and visit them, to eat their dream, returning to you at the end of a long rest or if you call it back earlier. Upon return it will provide you with the Information of the targets location aswell as at the DMs option, emotions, needs, plans and ambitions of the target. This feature will fail if the target hasnt rested in the time period between the send out and return of your Patron.

Nightmare Shard

As you spent more and more time with your Patron your power over dreams grows and you are able to manifest snippets, shards and simple images of nightmares in the head of your foes. Starting with Lvl. 10 when you see an attack made within 60 of you, you can use your reaction to afflict either the attacking creature or defending creature with a nightmareshard. An attacking creature afflicted this way is unsettled and has disadvantage on its attack roll. An defending creature afflicted this way is unsettled and shows an opening granting the creature attacking it advantage.

This feature can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. Any expended uses are regained with finishing a long rest.

Dream Weave

With time your Dream Eater Patron has eaten countless Dreams through you and grants you the power to subjects others to them. Starting at 14th level you gain the ability to subject creatures to dreams your Patron has eaten, outside of their resting phase. As an action you can choose a creature you can see within 60 of you and subject it to a dream of your choosing that counts either as pleasant dream or as nightmare.

Nightmare: Subjecting a creature to a nightmare fuels the worst nightmares the dream eater has eaten into their mind reminding them of their fears and forces them to make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a fail the creature is incapacitated and frightened until the start of your next turn and takes psychic damage equal to half of your warlock hit die rounded down (7d8 at Lvl. 14). On a success the creature takes half as much damage and isnt incapacitated nor frightened.(3d8 at Lvl.14) Additionally if the creature fails the save and if the Warlock chooses to concentrate on the nightmare as if concentrating on a spell the creature stays frightened until it manages to succeed the save. While the creature is frightened in this a way the Warlock can use his action to deal additional damage equal to a quarter of your maximux hit dice rounded down (3d8 at Lvl. 14). A creature immune to the frightened condition isnt affected by Nightmare.

Pleasant dream: Subjecting a creature to a pleasant dream allows the creature to experience the most pleasant dream your Patron has eaten, reminding the body of rest and reinforcing its vital, regenerative powers. The Target creature can spend up to half of their remaining hit die rounded down to heal themselves but are incapacitated for their next turn. A creature subjected to this can use its bonus action to willingly break out of the dream only able to spend half rounded down of the hit dice they would have been able to use to heal themselfes. Additionally if a creature chooses to stay incapitated for a turn rather than breaking out of the dream, the Warlock can choose to concentrate on the dream as if concentrating on a spell and use a bonus action on each of the warlocks turns concentrating on it to allow the creature affected by it to spent one of its hit die. If a creature has no hit die left this effect ends automatically.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
