Base Class: Sorcerer
You are a creature of shadow and blood, for your innate magic comes from the deadly vampire. You might trace your lineage from an ancestor whose blood was tainted by a vampire, you were part of a dark ceremony against your will that changed you, or perhaps you were bitten by a vampire and survived the transformation but its effects altered your being. However you gained this magic, the power of vampiric magic casts a strange pall over your physical presence. The spark of life that sustains you is muffled by a dark force, as if it struggles against the vampire magic that imbues your soul. At your option, you can pick from or roll on the Vampire Sorcerer Quirks table to create a quirk for your character.

Eyes of the Predator
Beginning at 1st level, your innate vampire magic allows you to see within darkness differently than most creatures. You can see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, to a distance of 120 feet.
Blood of Thy Enemy
At 1st level, your innate magic changes you and gives you retractable fangs that grant a vampire bite attack. As an action, you can make a melee spell attack against a creature within your reach. On a hit, the target takes 1d6 piercing damage and 1d6 necrotic damage. The necrotic damage of this feature increases as you level. After successfully hitting a creature with your bite attack, you regain hit points equal to half the amount of necrotic damage dealt(minimum of one). This ability has no effect on undead or constructs. You can use this feature a number of times equal to half of your proficiency bonus(rounded down).

Creature of the Night
Starting at 6th level, your innate magic begins to transform you into a nocturnal predator. You gain resistance to necrotic damage and you don't require food, water, or sleep. To gain the benefits of a long rest, you can spend all 8 hours doing light activity such walking around, reading, and keeping watch.
Dark Revelation
Starting at 14th level, you can unleash the vampiric truths hidden within your bloodthirsty soul. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 or more sorcery points to magically transform yourself for 1 minute. For each sorcery point you spend, you can gain one of the following benefits of your choice, the effects of which last until the transformation ends:
• Stalking Predator. You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed. You can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
• On Wings of Black. You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed and can hover.
• Dark Visage. You gain advantage on Charisma(intimidation) and Charisma(persuasion) ability checks.
• Smell of Blood. You are aware of the location of any hidden or invisible creatures within 30 feet of you.
Child of the Night
Starting at 18th level, the dark power that saturates your body allows you to resist death. You become immune to necrotic damage. Additionally, When you have to make a death saving throw at the start of your turn, you can instead cause your body to erupt with vampiric magic. Each creature within 30 feet of you takes necrotic damage equal to 2d8 + your sorcerer level. You regain a number of hit points equal to your proficiency bonus plus half of the necrotic damage taken by this feature. You stand up if you so choose. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Posted Feb 7, 2024Child of the Night only works if you can make death saving throws to determine if you die. If there was something that TKO'd you or kills your character without making a death saving throw, you couldn't use it. If you replace a death saving throw with it, you do regain some hit points and can stand if you choose, bringing you back from the brink of death.
