Base Class: Druid
Druids of the Circle of the Nahual commune with the spirits of nature, especially the spirits of beasts. These spirits live within all living things and are known as nahual. These druids are protectors of nature and guard spots of important significance while invoke their nahual to fight alongside them. They ward off monsters that threaten balance, rebuke hunters who search for trophies, and prevent civilization from encroaching into untouched areas with natural significance. These druids are happiest within their tight-knit communities and in service to their god.
Members of this circle become adventurers to oppose forces that threaten their charges or to seek knowledge and power that will help them safeguard their charges better. Wherever these druids go, the spirits of the nahual are with them.
Invoking Nahual
A Druid of the Circle of Nahual is trained immediately in invoking a beast that is no larger than Medium and that has a challenge rating of 1/4 or lower. This beast is known as your Nahual. Once a Nahual is made known to the creature summoning it, they are bonded for life. (A player can either choose a Nahual, or a DM can choose for you, but a Nahual can never be changed). A Nahual itself is an astral projection of a beast spirit that resides inside of you and can fight alongside you. This spirit has all of the normal stats of the beast it represents except for health, which can be found in the Invoking Nahual section. A Nahual never truly dies until its wielder does, however, if the Nahual drops to 0 hit points then it cannot be summoned until a long rest upon which it regains all hit points. The Nahual also is affected by all effects that the wielder is affected by (including blindness and exhaustion).
To attack with a Nahual, the wielder must use a bonus action, and the wielder can see everything the Nahual sees, even without a line of sight. All attacks from Nahual are also considered to be magical.
The Nahual cannot be beyond a 60-foot radius from the wielder. As long as the Nahual has hit points it can be invoked at any time, but it cannot be healed outside of a long rest.
Nahual's Extension
Beginning at 3rd level, you are able to cast spells through a Nahual.
Nahual's Fury
The Druid who has spent time developing their skills with their Nahaul can now invoke their Nahual energy to split and spread around them. Doing so cast the spell Spiritual Guardians, and adds +2 to your AC. If an attack would strike you but misses due to the extra defense, the Nahual takes the damage instead. The Nahual's damage in this form is reduced by half upon reaching half of its max health.
Nahual's Mirror
Beginning at the 11th level, you can use your wild shape to mirror your Nahual's form. You are granted all of their stats including health and are able to fight alongside each other. While in this form your Nahual cannot be in the form of Nahual's Fury.
Also starting at 11th level, you can use your action to swap places with your Nahual, teleporting you to its space and it to yours.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
Nahual's Aura
Starting a 14 level, a Nahual extends its energy in a 15-foot diameter granting all allies within range a boon to attacks. Each attack within the Arua grants an additional d6 to attack and damage rolls. This ability can only be used twice per long rest.
