Base Class: Paladin
The Oath of the Trickster states:
- There are no rules. Do not be hampered by silly rules, or useless regulations.
- Laughter is the best medicine. Bring joy, release tensions, heal negative feelings through a well timed gag or a punny joke.
- Mockery is the greatest weapon. Tyrants, villains, and evil doers fear mockery the most. Undo their influence with satire and mockery.
Paladins of the trickster may follow a god of trickery, or simply be committed to the idea of the importance comedy as an art form.
Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
Reversal of Fortune. You can use your Channel Divinity to invoke the vagarity of luck to reverse the fortune of a creature. As a reaction, you can cause success to turn into failure or failure to turn into success. If a creature that you can see rolls a natural 1 or a natural 20 on an ability check, attack roll, or saving throw, you can change the result into the opposite: a natural 1 becomes a natural 20 or a natural 20 becomes a natural 1.
Utter Embarrassment. You can use your Channel Divinity to pull and embarrassing prank or reveal and embarrassing secret about a creature. As an action, choose one creature you can see within 60ft of you, the target makes a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure the creature is incapacitated with embarrassment and shame and must spend its turns trying to break line of sight with you. If the creature ends its turn out of your sight it can repeat the saving throw ending the effect on a success.
