Archivists are protectors of knowledge. They use arcane arts to protect knowledge from the past so it may be passed on. 

Tool Proficiency

When you adopt this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with calligrapher's supplies. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.

Archivist's Spells

Starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Alchemist Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Mythallar Prototype

Long ago Mystral blessed humanity with practically limitless access to the Weave. The ancient artimists used their access to the Weave to create artifacts known as Mythallars which could maintain concentration spells for them. Through your research into ancient arcane construction you, have managed to recreate what the ancient artimists had, all be it, on a smaller scale. 

Beginning at 3rd level, whenever you finish a long rest, you can magically produce a mythallar prototype by magically charging a gem you touch. You can use the mythallar while casting a concentration spell. As an action, you can activate mythallar prototype by casting another concentration spell. When activated, the mythallar will float within 5 feet of you, and take the concentration of the second spell cast. The mythallar remains active for 1 minute unless concentration is broken, after which the mythallar can not be used again until recharged. The mythallar has an armor class of 7 + proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier. Upon being hit the mythallar makes a concentration check using your Intelligence save.

Creating an mythallar prototype requires you to have calligrapher's tools on your person, and any mythallar you create with this feature lasts until it is activated or until the end of your next long rest.

When you reach certain levels in this class, you can add additional charges to the mythallar at the end of a long rest: two at 6th level and three at 15th level. The mythallar charges can not be used at the same time.

 

Knowledge Keeper

At 5th level, you gain proficiency with 3 skills of your choice. If the skills are intelligence based, you gain Expertise in them.

Information Pass

In an attempt to maintain the sanctity of the knowledge you have collected, you have learned how to magically pass it on to others without the rigorous research you have conducted yourself.

Starting at 9th level, you can store psychic energy in objects for later use:

  • Whenever you attack with a weapon while not using concentration, your attack damage deals additional psychic damage equal to your Intelligence modifier.
  • You can store knowledge of skills in objects for the use of others. When a friendly creature touches the object, they gain advantage on the next skill check of the stored skill. If you used the skill for a certain task that you successfully completed in the past, the creature can successfully perform the same task without use of a role. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1).

Flawless Mind

By 15th level, you have perfected your mind to be a near unbreakable fortress. 

  • You gain resistance to psychic damage, and have advantage on all sanity roles.
  • You can read the thoughts of any creatures within 20 feet of you.
  • You have a perfect memory.
