Monk
Base Class: Monk

A half-elf stands before a horde of vicious undead, quickly dodging and interposing their shield in front of the flurry of attacks coming their way. Still unharmed, they hold the line until the monastery can prepare a counter attack.

The Way of the Protector gives great defensive capabilities to its practitioners. They strongly differ from other monks in their use of the shield as well as in sacrificing their speed for great defensive capabilities. These monks are often guards of monasteries, as they are capable at stalling enemies for the monastery to prepare.

Protector's Shield

You gain proficiency with shields and using a shield doesn't stop you from benefiting from Unarmored Defense, Martial Arts or Unarmored Movement.

Defensive Stance

As a bonus action, you can give up the movement speed bonus from Unarmored Movement in order to gain a bonus to your Armor Class equal to one fifth of the movement speed bonus you gain from Unarmored Movement.

This effect lasts until you end it as a bonus action.

Protector of the People

You can now use the Deflect Missiles reaction when an ally within 5 ft. of you is hit.

Additionally, if you use your shield to deflect the missile, you can add an additional 1d10 to the damage reduced, but you can't catch the missile.

Grand Defence

As an action, you can spend 2 Ki Points to gain advantage on all saving throws and give all attack rolls against you disadvantage until the start of your next turn.

Ki Shield

As an action, you focus your Ki to create a shell around yourself and your allies. For 3 Ki points, you and an amount of creatures of your choice within 10 ft. of you up to your wisdom modifier gain three-quarters cover until the start of your next turn. You can increase the amount of creatures affected by this action by one for each additional Ki Point spent.
