Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

The Blademaster seeks the battle, breathes it like air. With years of dedication and practice, this capable fighter has steeled their mind to remain focused even in the most heated of battles. Even when everything feels numb and dull, as soon as the firest impacts of colliding steel are heard and the scent of iron suffuses the air, his heart begins to beat. It is that moment, when he truly feels alive.

Battle Focus

When you choose this subclass at 3rd level, you have learned the art of reading your opponent and the battlefield, allowing you to enhance your attacks and use powerful abilities with your new ressource, focus. Your focus is set to 1 when you roll for initiative and you gain 1 focus each time you successfully hit a creature with a weapon attack. You can have a number of focus equal to your proficency bonus. You lose all focus after combat ends.

When you use focus during your turn, any focus gain by subsequent attacks will be prevented until the start of your next turn.

Whenever you hit with a weapon attack, you can expend any number of focus and add an amount of damage equal to the focus expended to your weapon damage; the damage added is off the weapons damage type.

Swift Feet

At 3rd level, you are hard to keep in place and adept at escaping sticky situations. You can expend 2 focus and use the Disengage or Dash action as a bonus action.

Masterful Parry

In the heat of battle, you remain cool and level headed. At 7th level, you gain the ability to use your focus to avoid attacks that would otherwise have landed. Whenever you are about to be hit by an attack, you may use your reaction and spend any number of focus. If you do, you increase your AC by a number equal to the focus you spent.

Critical Focus

Your cold concentration during battle allows you to spot flaws in your enemies defenses with ease. Starting at 10th level, you can use your focus to make it easier scoring critical hits. Whenever you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you may expend any number of focus. If you do, you reduce the requirement to score a critical hit by 1 for every two focus spent, rounded down. This threshold applies before any modifiers to the attack are applied and uses the attack roll itself alone.

Smell the Roses

Starting at 15th level, your cold estimation of your foes have enabled you to spot opportunities to strike at foes, even when you are targeting another creature. Immediatly after you take the attack action on your turn, you can expend 2 focus to make one additional weapon attack against a target that you have not attacked this turn that is within your reach. If your attack is a ranged attack, the focus cost is increased to 3.

Thwart

Starting at 18th level, you are capable of interrupting your opponents at the right time. Whenever a creature within your reach forces you or a friendly creature to make a saving throw, you can use your reaction and expend 4 focus to make a weapon attack against that creature. If your attack successfully hits, any creature affected automatically succeeds on their saving throw against the effect.
