Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Food is the thing that brings people together more than anything else, and for some adventurers, this makes it a compelling passion to pursue. Whether out of understanding of a good meal's ability to lever a conversation in one's favour, or simply an adoration for the culinary arts, many rogueish individuals looking to branch out into other adventurous hobbies see the potential of mastering the kitchen, and perfect their cooking to unrivalled degree.

Kitchen Hand

The rogue who chooses to pursue the life of a cook must firstly be sure they know their way around... well, food. Starting when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you may apply double your proficiency bonus (ie your rogue Expertise feature) to any skill checks involving the preparation, identification, or investigation of any foodstuff. You may also use your Cunning Action feature to consume any food or drink.

Culinary Arsenal

Working their craft every day gives the Chef a sort of familiarity with the tools of their trade that most adventurers will feel only with their favourite weapons. From 3rd level, you are proficient with any improvised weapon that has a kitchen utensil theme (eg kitchen knives, wooden spoons, spatulas, rolling pins etc - use the DM's discretion here), and may apply your Dexterity modifier one additional time to any damage rolls with such weapons (including off-hand attacks).

Food Brings People Together

The pride of any self-respecting Chef is their ability to prepare food that can soften even the tensest of situations. From 9th level, any time you prepare a meal consumed by a non-hostile creature, you and your allies gain advantage on all Charisma (Persuasion) checks against that creature, as long as they understand the speaker.

Feast Fit For A King

All food is good food to the right person, but when it is cooked by a particularly talented Chef, that food can take on nearly magical therapeutic qualities. From 13th level, as long as you have suitable ingredients on hand, you may prepare a specialised meal for your party during rest. Every ally who consumes this meal when made during a short rest gains temporary hit points equal to 2d4 + your proficiency bonus for the next 8 hours. If done during a long rest, the hit points and duration are doubled. This bonus may only apply once at any given time, to any single creature.

Palate Perfection

When a Chef reaches a point of mastery of their art, their food becomes so overwhelmingly delicious that its effects go far beyond filling bellies. From 17th level, whenever a creature consumes a piece of food prepared by you that has not yet spoiled, they instantly heal for 4d4 hit points, and are cured of any single disease or poison. Additionally, you gain one more additional Dexterity modifier bonus to your Culinary Arsenal feature's damage boost.
