Base Class: Wizard
You use your knowledge of wizardry to supplement a fighting style that enhances your combative prowess. Spells are as much weapons to you as a sword to a fighter or an axe to a barbarian. You are more durable and combat oriented than your bookish colleagues. However, choosing not to specialize in one of the arcane schools and traditions, you are not as adept with magic as classic wizards. Due to this you can only choose spells from the schools of Abjuration, Conjuration, Evocation and either Transmutation or Illusion.
A battlemage is a warrior, unlike an eldritch knight who dabbles in magic, or a bladesinger your magical focus is heavily influenced by war and how to improve your lethality in battle. Battlemages are very rare in the world , as the teachings are long lost, and few follow this wizard school anymore, secluded monasteries dot the far reaches of civilizationwhere they find themselves. Speak with your DM before choosing this arcane tradition, perhaps work with them how you came across battlemagge teachings, are you the last of your order? Battlemages are no mere brutes who only understand force, they are as much wizards as others, though their talents are broader.

Arcane Durability
Beginning at 2nd level, you increase your hit points by 4. Additionally you gain 2 additional hit points whenever you gain a level in the Wizard class.
Extra Attack
Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
Magical Onslaught
Starting at 10th level, you can cast two spells, instead of one, whenever you cast a spell as an action on your turn. As per spellcasting rules for casting multiple spells, see PHB: Chapter 10 Spellcasting/ Casting time. You can only use the [Tooltip Not Found] once per turn, with this feature you may use it to cast two spells in 1 action. Drawing on so much raw magic in such a short time is draining on you however. Your second spell must be half the first spell's level rounded down.
Ie: The battlemage wizard Errigard Stormeye uses her action to cast the 6th level spell chain lightning, she can then also cast a 3rd level spell as a part of her action, this still consumes a spell slot, meaning she could use this second cast to cast a higher level of spell, such as magic missile as a 3rd level spell. Any Bonus Action spells she could cast are limited to being cantrips however. Ie: 2: The battlemage wizard Finris Odair uses his action to cast the 5th level spell animate objects, he can then also cast a 2nd level spell, or a 1st level spell using a second level spell slot.
This feature cannot be used in conjunction with your extra attack feature, meaning you cannot take the attack action, then use this feature to also cast a spell as part of the same action, unless that spell is a bonus action as per the normal rules. A fighter/ battlemage with Action Surge, could however use a combination such as: Attack Action, Extra Attack Action, Action Surge, Magical Onslaught to make two melee attacks and then two spell attacks.
When you reach 16th level you can shape your spells with more refined focus, the limitation to your bonus action spells being only cantrips is lifted. Your bonus action spell must still follow the half the original spell rounded down rule, so if you cast a 9th level spell, then a 4th level spell, your bonus action is limited to 2nd level spells and lower.
Fury of Battle
Starting at 14th level, you have resistance to non-magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. You can also use your reaction to absorb twice your wizard level + intelligence modifier worth of damage from yourself and allies that are within 30 feet of you. For every 5 damage absorbed, you create a magic missile (1d4 +1) that you can launch at any hostile creature within 120 feet of you. You may use this feature once per long rest. (Damage absorbed is counted as damage taken which can cause you to drop to 0 hit points)
You have a sense for battle and when combat begins, you may add your intelligence modifier to your initiative roll. If your initiative roll total is greater than 20, you may take an additional action on your first turn of combat, this action can only be the Attack, Cast a Spell, Dash, or Help action.
