Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Tempered Mind have honed and awakened their third eye through vigorous meditation, granting psionic abilities by utilizing their ki. Teaching mind over matter, they rely on their psionic powers to bolster their bodies and to touch the minds of others.
Psionic Deflection
When you take the attack action you can use your bonus action to set up a psionic barrier till the start of your next turn. While the barrier is active you gain a bonus of +1 to your unarmored defense and the next time you take damage you can reduce it by a roll equal to your Martial Arts die plus your Wisdom modifier. Additionally, you can spend a ki point to reduce the next 2 instances of damage you suffer. The bonus armor to your unarmored defense increases by 1 when you reach level 5, 11, and 17 in monk
Telepathic Umbrella
You have awakened your mind's eye and have trained you mind to touch the minds of other creatures out to a limited range. Starting at 3rd level you gain the ability to speak telepathically to creatures out to a range of 10 feet. You gain an additional 10 times your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 0) feet added to the initial 10 feet. This range will increase (or decrease) if your Wisdom modifier is altered. If a language is not shared you can convey basic thoughts and feelings.
Watchful Eye
You have trained your mind's eye to detect trouble even when you cannot see it. Starting at 3rd level if you are ever surprised by a hostile creature that is hiding from you, when initiative is rolled you can also roll one of your Martial Arts die and add the number rolled to your passive perception. If your passive perception increases above any active hide checks of the hostile creatures you are no longer considered surprised.
Alternatively, if you are already not surprised when initiative is rolled, you can grant this effect to one friendly creature within your telepathic umbrella's range.
Psionic Mimicry
You gain the ability to replicate the casting of psionic spells using your ki. Starting at 6th level you gain the ability to cast spells from the following list using your ki points, without providing material components. Each spell costs 1 ki point per spell level to cast. If you wish to up-cast any of the spells you cast using your ki, it will cost an additional ki point per level of up-cast. At 6th level monk, if you use your ki to cast one of the following spells you are limited to casting up to 3rd level spells. This limit is increased at 9th level monk to 4th level spells and again at 12th level monk to 5th level spells. Wisdom is your spell casting ability for these spells. You can choose to make the mage hand, or any other spell that may have a visual effect, you cast with this feature invisible.
If you use your action to cast one of the following spells using your ki, you can use your bonus action to make a special unarmed strike or prepare one psionic deflect. This special attack/deflect gains a bonus equal to your Wisdom modifier in psychic damage or additional damage reduction, respectfully.
This list is designed with the assumption you have access to all these spells. If you do not, ask your DM if you can replace a spell that you don't have access to with a spell of the same level from the bard, sorcerer or wizard spell list.

Mind Over Matter
You have learned to use your ki to fuel your psionics in order to defy the natural law. Starting at 11th level you learn two techniques: Immoveable Object and Unstoppable Force.
Immoveable Object: At the start of your turn you can reduce your movement to 0 till the end of your turn. When you do this, you can focus more attention on your psionic deflections allowing you to roll twice the amount of martial arts dice when you roll for your psionic deflections till the start of your next turn. Additionally, any forced movement applied to you during this time requires 10 feet to move you 5 feet.
Unstoppable Force: At the start of your turn you can reduce your movement by half till the end of your turn. When you do this, you empower your unarmed strikes with telekinetic energy allowing you to shove a creature of the size Large or smaller 10 feet, into an unoccupied space of your choice, when you successfully hit the creature. Additionally, if you choose to move between your attacks directly towards a creature you have shoved, in this way, you gain a fly speed and a swimming speed for any remaining movement of your turn. If you or a creature are in the air at the end of your turn (from this feature) and have no other force keeping you there, both you and the creature immediately fall to the ground.
At level 17 of monk, you no longer suffer a restriction on the size of creature you can shove.
Psionic Siphon
At 17th level, you gain the ability to mentally interrupt the flow of ki in other living creatures giving you the opportunity to siphon a portion of ki from them. Once per turn, when you hit a living creature with an unarmed strike you can steal a portion of their ki and decipher it to learn how to best defend against that creature for a short time. When you do this, you regain 1 ki point and take half damage from that creature till the start of your next turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 plus your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 0). All expended uses are regained at the end of a long rest.
All creatures are capable of being affected by this feature other than constructs and undead.
