Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Most Cavalier Primaries are trained from a young age and imbued with a sense of duty to their Necromancer. Others are eleventh hour desperation picks who are being rewarded handsomely for their services to their Necromancer. In either case, a Cavalier Primary's duty is protection of their Necromancer at all costs. This subclass must be played with a Bone Adept Wizard.

Cavalier Training

At level 3, you gain proficiency in History, Insight, and Performance, as well as heavy and finesse weapons. You also gain the ability Two-Weapon Fighting, able to use your Bonus Action to attack with an off-hand weapon if your attack action is with a light weapon, or specific to the Cavalier Primary subclass, a rapier. Traditionally, the off-hand weapon of a Cavalier Primary is a dagger, though any light weapon can be used.

Improved Critical

At level 7, your weapon attacks score a critical hit on 19 or 20.

Unbreaking Protector

Starting at level 10, when your necromancer has taken damage in the last round, you enter a protective state. All damage you take within 30 feet of them is halved and you gain advantage on any one creature or object that harmed them until the start of your next turn.

Battlefield Command

Starting at level 15, you command the area in the presence of your Necromancer. As a bonus action, you can instruct one creature to make a melee weapon attack if they are in range of a hostile creature or object.

Devotion Undying

At level 18, your will to live and serve your Necromancer moves beyond death. When you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can use an immediate reaction to take another full turn.
