Base Class: Cleric
Some clerics believe that the protection of others is the paramount importance. These clerics have learned to increase the abilities of their Shield of Faith spell to grant additional protections.
Domain Spells
You gain domain spells at the cleric levels listed in the Protection Domain Spells table. See the Divine Domain class feature for how domain spells work.
Protection Domain Spells
| Cleric Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 1st | armor of Agathys, shield of faith |
| 3rd | aid, warding bond |
| 5th | protection from energy, spirit guardians |
| 7th | death ward, guardian of faith |
| 9th | greater restoration, mass cure wounds |
Bonus Proficiency
You gain proficiency in heavy armors and shields.
Channel Divinity: Protective Blessing
Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to Protect your allies.
You can expend a Channel Divinity as a reaction when you or one of your allies was hit in battle. That target gains a bonus to their armor class and saving throws equal to your proficiency bonus for one round.
Channel Divinity: Protected Concentration
Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to Protect your spell concentration.
When you fail a check to maintain concentration on a spell, you can use a channel divinity to make the check instead.
Divine Protection
Starting At 2nd level, you can cast multiple Shield of Faith spells and maintain concentration on all of them at the same time. Each spell requires it’s own spell slot and bonus action to cast. When you cast a second spell, the concentration is tied to the first casting. If you lose concentration on one of them, all of them fail. Just the same, if the first casting that contains the concentration runs it’s full duration and ends each of them ends at the same time.
Improved Shield of Faith
Starting At 6th level, your Shield of Faith protects better. The spell now grants a total boost to your armor class equal to 2 + your proficiency bonus.
Multicast
Starting At 8th level, when you cast Shield of Faith you can apply it to a number of targets equal to your proficiency bonus as a single bonus action. This uses 1 spell slot equal to half the number of targets affected, rounded up. These can be multiple 1st level slots or a combination of spell slots that totals the correct amount. If you do not have the slots available or are not willing to use them, you can cast the spell as normal.
Divine Attention
At 17th level, your shield of faith spells draw the attention of a divine power who increases the power of your shields.
All castings of Shield of Faith also give the target resistance to all damage for the duration.
