Base Class: Druid
For Druids influenced by the Shadowfell, Domains of Dread, or other similar influences.
Bonus Cantrips
Your mystical link to the Shadowfell grants you access to certain spells. At 2nd level, you learn the spare the dying and chill touch cantrips.
Masked by Death
With your connection to the Shadowfell you've learned how to mask the presence of yourself and others. As an action, you can speak a phrase to grant a masking boon to a number of creatures of your choice within 20 feet. You can target up to a number of creatures equal to 1 + your Wisdom modifier (minimum of two creatures).
Whilst under the effect of this boon you register as an undead to abilities, spells and effects which detect the undead, however you are not considered as undead for the effect of other spells or effects such as Turn Undead or Hallow. Additionally, undead with an Intelligence score less than your Charisma score register creatures under the effect of the boon as friendly creatures and don’t take hostile actions against them.
The effect of this boon lasts for 1 hour, however it ends early on a creature if that creature takes a hostile action against an undead creature, or if you use this feature again. You can also dismiss the boon early as an action.
Once you use this feature you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Circle Spells
At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to the spells listed for that level in the Circle of Shadows Spells table. Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn’t appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

Shadow Summons
As an action, you can expend a use of your wildshape feature to summon a shadow beast instead of turning into a beast yourself.
The beast that you summon is a type of beast you can wildshape into and it appears in an empty space beside you as it forms from your shadow. The beast has the stats of the summoned creature with the following changes:
- It is a monstrosity instead of a beast.
- It appears with a number of temporary hit points equal to half your Druid level.
- It gains Darkvision out to a range of 60ft unless it already has a longer range.
- It has resistance to necrotic damage, as well as bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage from non-magical sources.
- It deals necrotic damage in place of the damage it would normally deal.
- Attacks against it have disadvantage whilst it is in dim light, and it is considered invisible whilst in darkness.
- It can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. The shadow beast takes 5 force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.
- It cannot be healed, however spells and effects can give it temporary hitpoints.
- You take 5 psychic damage each time the shadow beast takes damage.
You have no shadow whilst the shadow beast is summoned. It lasts for one hour, until it is reduced to 0 hit points, you wildshape again, or until you dismiss it as a bonus action. When the shadow beast is ended through any of these means it flies back to you at a speed of 120ft, turning back into your shadow as soon as it reaches you.
It acts on your turn in combat. Whilst it's within 1 mile of you, you can command it telepathically (no action required by you), and as an action on your turn you can see through the shadow beast’s eyes and hear what it hears until the start of your next turn, gaining the benefits of any special senses that the shadow beast has. You are deaf and blind with regard to your own senses whilst using the senses of your shadow beast.
Infused with Shadow
You gain resistance to necrotic damage which applies even if you are wild shaped. Additionally, you can’t be charmed, frightened or possessed by the undead.
Shadow Portals
When you reach 14th level your mastery over shadows allows you to use your shadow beast to create a passage through a shadowy realm, which you and your allies can use to travel between two portals.
In addition to the earlier features, your shadow beast can now serve as the destination for a shadow portal. Rather than simply dismissing the shadow beast, you can use your action to collapse it into an oval shaped shadowy portal which appears as a tear in the fabric of reality. This portal serves as the paired portal for a similar shadowy portal which appears beside you.
Both portals last until the start of your next turn, during which time, you and your allies can travel through them at the cost of 5ft of movement each time, emerging in an empty space adjacent to the rift.
After the portals collapse, your shadow is returned to you from whichever rift you are closest to.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (a minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
