Base Class: Fighter
The pillow knight originated in a house where all the children became knights, as was the tradition. One such son, however, did nothing but sleep all day. They had little interest in training and carried their pillow with them around the keep when they were awake. One day, he woke up completely refreshed and got the idea to strap his pillows around himself and do some sparring. Lo and behold, his pillow "armor" held up just as well as some of the other knights' armor.
Pillow Armor
Starting at 3rd level, while wearing only pillows for armor, your AC is 10 + Dex + 1/3 the hours slept in the past 24 hours (rounded down). The more you sleep, the stronger you are. You have mastered the art of being a morning person, regardless of when you wake up. To gain this benefit, you must sleep for at least one minute within one hour of combat.
At 7th level, your armor class increases from 1/3 to 1/2 the hours slept in the past 24 hours (rounded down).
Anywhere, Anytime
Starting at 3rd level, you no longer have the restriction of short/long rests. You sleep when you can, where you can. Once you have slept one consecutive hour or 8 consecutive hours, you gain the benefits of a short or long rest, respectively.
Honorable Challenge
Starting at 7th level, taunt an opponent and force them to engage in a 1v1 pillow fight. If they don't have a pillow, they have to make a Charisma saving throw or be forced to go find one or use the nearest fluffy object, be it a pillow, blanket, or dead chicken.
Morning Person
At 10th level, you gain a bonus to initiative equal to your Charisma modifier. Your sleepy/sleeping visage throws off your opponents, but once a fight starts, this gives you a leg up against your opponents. Due to this confusion, you also have advantage on your first attack in a round against a creature who has not taken a turn.
Sleep Superiority
Starting at 15th level, you can use your sleep as a weapon. Once per turn when you make a melee weapon attack, you can add a bonus to damage equal to the number of hours you have slept in the past 24 hours.
Master of Sleep
At 18th level, you have mastered the science of sleeping to the point of controlling your subconscious to a degree.
- You cannot be surprised while unconscious
- When you start your turn with 0 hit points, you automatically stabilize and naturally wake up after 1 hour. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier per long rest.
