Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Animental lean to mimic the ways of animals, working them into their martial arts, combining them with elemental energies via their ki to further augment them to harness a power similar to the rare Animentals, spirits of elemental energy that the form of animals and other creatures. These practices grant them a unique way of fighting in battle that often catches their foes off guard. This martial art is most known in recent history as being a favorite for Genasi and Eladrin who take an interest in martial arts. This martial art uses 5 primary styles that each utilize the features and abilities of an animal, element(either purely or some related form such as wood and metal technically being variants of earth in different ways), and sometimes even seasons. These styles are as follows:

  • Wooden Tiger Style. This style embodies the stalking calculating like movements of the tiger, burst with  great vigor when the moment comes to strike. The style also focuses on crushing your foe, like a tiger once it has pounced on it's prey, but still remaining strong and flexible to alter your tactics if need be, primarily making use of your power in tactical ways.
  • Flowing Deer Style. This style is defensive in nature, much like the cautious, using the fear that would be a weakness to some to their advantage, not being afraid to flee if need be. This style also focuses on being hyper aware of one's surroundings, much like the hearing of a deer. This style also specializes in counter attacks and throwing weapons when they do have to fight back.
  • Bear of The Earth Style. This style centers around being stable and strong like a bear or the earth itself, pull down opponents and their strikes. The use of "dead weight" in fighting can be advantageous in grappling, take-downs, bring-downs, while still being stable in terms of offense and defense, withstanding blows and dealing blows in return.
  • Blazing Monkey Style. This style is about the fiery power of passion in one's heart and the agility of a monkey, hitting foes hard, fast, and as much as possible, leaping, lunging, pinching, dynamic patterns, and fast flurries of striking much like a monkey would. This style is also considered top be light and fast like a flickering fire, over time or with enough rapid combos, erupting into a mighty blaze of damage to their foe.
