Base Class: Wizard
While most wizards are able to sit high up in academies, trained by elites, some scrounge in the streets struggling for survival. This causes them to learn unique skills to help them swipe supplies for their spells and novel ways of interacting with magic that most wizards would look down upon.
Roguish Skill
2nd-level School of the Streets feature
Due to your time working with rogues, you have learned thieves cant, a secret mix of dialect, jargon, and code that allows you to hide messages in seemingly normal conversation. Only another creature that knows thieves’ cant understands such messages. It takes four times longer to convey such a message than it does to speak the same idea plainly.
In addition, you understand a set of secret signs and symbols used to convey short, simple messages, such as whether an area is dangerous or the territory of a thieves’ guild, whether loot is nearby, or whether the people in an area are easy marks or will provide a safe house for thieves on the run. You are also proficient in Thieves' Tools and have proficiency in either Deception, Stealth, or Sleight of Hand.
Deception
You have proficiency in Deception.
Sleight of Hand
You have proficiency in Sleight of Hand.
Stealth
You have proficiency in Stealth.
Observant Mimicry
2nd-level School of the Streets feature
You are a resourceful learner, picking up knowledge where ever you can. As a reaction, when you see a creature cast a spell on the wizard list within 30 feet, you can use a mimic card to write down notes of the spell you have observed. When you attempt to learn a spell you have a mimic card for, the gold and time you must spend to copy a spell written on a mimic card into your spellbook is halved.
Shell Game
6th-level School of the Streets feature
You have learned how to magically hide items you've stolen. You slip the item you are holding that fits in your hand into your sleeve, causing the item to be transported to an extradimensional space, where it remains until you use your action to summon the object to your free hand. You can only stow one item at a time in this way.
You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Spell Mimicry
10th-level School of Thieves feature
As your arcane education has been unorthodox, you become good at learning from observation. You may record a 3rd level or lower spell available on the wizard list that you have seen casted as a reaction. You may only have one spell mimicked with spell mimic at a time, and any attempt to mimic another spell for spell mimic removes the ability to cast the previous spell. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for this spell, and no material or somatic components are required. You may cast this spell once, and regain the ability to cast this spell after a short rest.
Mastered Mimicry
14th-level School of Thieves feature
You have become so skilled at learning from observation that you may record a 5th level or lower spell available on the wizard list that you have seen casted as a reaction.
In addition, you learn Counterspell, if you do not already know it, and always have it prepared (it will not count towards your prepared spell limit). When using a reaction to create a mimic card, you will also be able to spend a spellslot to cast Counterspell on the spell you are copying."
