Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of this monastic tradition adopt the beliefs and dogma of the Kara-tur faith known as "The Path of Enlightenment" otherwise called "The True Path" or simply "The Path".

The Path encouraged people to obey their superiors; to owe fealty to their lords; and to venerate the past, ancestors, former emperors, and the priests who taught and preserved the Path. Past generations were treated as guardians of the Path. Nine cardinal virtues were also emphasized by the Path: in alphabetical order, these were Artistry, Compassion, Courage, Fidelity, Honor, Karma, Love, Respect for Tradition, and Scholarship.

The Celestial Emperor ordered the Nine Immortals of the Celestial Empire to each take responsibility for one of the nine cardinal virtues of the Path, and to go among mortals to teach these virtues through example. According to legend, the Celestial Emperor also inscribed the teachings on the Cliffs of Tanghai, so the people would be reminded of his will for all time.

The practices of this tradition often allowed one's ki to through purity to harness divine power or even transcend their own mortality.

Guardians of the Path

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your meditation has granted you a connection to those who came before you and allowed for you to take your first steps towards enlightenment, the first creature you hit with an attack on your turn the spirits of those who came before you hinder its attacks. Until the start of your next turn, that target has disadvantage on any attack roll that isn’t against you.

When the target hits a creature other than you with an attack, you can as a reaction, expend 1 ki point to grant that creature resistance to the damage dealt by the attack. You also have advantage on saving throws against any disease.

Spiritual Power

At 6th level, you gain the ability to use the power of your ki to harness the power of your spirit and those of those who have long passed to perform supernatural abilities, rarely heard of even among some of the most well trained martial artists.

Purity Barrier

You can expend 3 ki points (no action required) to create an invisible barrier, this functions the same as the spell wall of force, requiring you to maintain concentration to maintain it for the full duration.

Teleportation.

As a bonus action, you can expend 2 ki points to supernaturally teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see.

Purify

Beginning at 11th level, you use your enlightened outlook on the universe to escape death's grasp. When you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can expend 1 ki point (no action required) to have 1 hit point instead. You gain resistance to necrotic and radiant damage if your don't already. You are also immune to the charmed condition.

Also the spirits of those long passed share their wisdom with you. You learn one language of your choice, and you gain proficiency with one of the following skills of your choice: ArcanaHistoryInvestigationNature, and Religion. If you already have proficiency in one of the listed skills, you can instead choose to double your proficiency bonus for any ability check you make that uses the chosen proficiency.

Further more, you gain the ability to replicate the effects of some spells, requiring no components, by expending ki points equal to the level of the spell, these spells include aura of vitalityaura of lifelesser restorationgreater restoration

Enlightened

Starting at 17th level, your mind has achieved enlightenment from your meditation and strict diet, causing your body to self mummify, your body is now simply a vessel for your spirit, acting as a tool to help others achieve such happiness one day with in the afterlife, aiding people towards their heaven and seeking to redeem the wicked who have the slightest spark of hope. Sadly those ignorant to The Path mistake this often for a form of necromancy.

On your turn, you can use a bonus action to regain hit points equal to 2d8 + your Proficiency Bonus. Additionally, if you put a severed body part of yours back in place when you use this feature, the part reattaches, otherwise severed body members (fingers, legs, tails, and so on), if any, are restored after 2 minutes. This effect lasts for 1 hour.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend 7 ki points.
