Bard
Base Class: Bard

Restriction: Adept (Earth) or Adept (Fire) Background only
The Skald is a bard who focuses on martial skills. Venus and Mars Adepts tend to be more focused on weapon skills, and as such only they can excel as a Skald.

For centuries, the people of The Vale have maintained the stories and tales of the ancient times through song and storytelling. A Skald is an Adept who has studied these tales, particularly those of battle and glory. With their songs, they inspire others to reach the same heights of accomplishment as the heroes of old, and are more than capable of entering combat themselves thanks to their martial training and combat magic.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you choose to become a Skald at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with medium armor, shields, and martial weapons.

Combat Inspiration

Also at 3rd level, you learn to use your elemental magic to enhance the combat abilities of your allies. A creature that has a Bardic Inspiration die from you can roll that die and add the number rolled to a weapon damage roll it just made. The additional damage dealt this way is fire damage. Alternatively, when an attack roll is made against the creature, it can use its reaction to call upon the protection of the earth and roll the Bardic Inspiration die after seeing the roll but before knowing whether it hits or misses. Add the number rolled to its AC against that attack.

Extra Attack

At 6th level you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your cantrips that deals fire or bludgeoning damage in place of one of those attacks.

Battle Magic

At 14th level, you have mastered the art of weaving spellcasting and weapon use into a single harmonious act. When you use your action to cast a bard spell, you can make one weapon attack as a bonus action.
