Base Class: Rogue
A Rogue subclass for those looking to play as an interrogator or torturer.
Bonus Proficiency
Your gain proficiency with the whip.
Spellcasting
When you reach 3rd level, you gain the ability to cast spells. See Spells Rules for the general rules of spellcasting and the Spells Listing for the wizard spell list.
Cantrips
You learn three cantrips: vicious mockery and two other cantrips of your choice from the bard spell list. You learn another bard cantrip of your choice at 10th level.
Spell Slots
The Tormentor Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
For example, if you know the 1st-level spell charm person and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast charm person using either slot.
Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher
You know three 1st-level bard spells of your choice, however you must choose these from the school of enchantment on the bard spell list.
The Spells Known column of the Tormentor Spellcasting table shows when you learn more bard spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be an enchantment spell, and must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.
Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the bard spells you know with another enchantment spell of your choice from the bard spell list. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots.
Spellcasting Ability
Charisma is your spellcasting ability for your bard spells, since your spells are powered by the strength of your personality. You use your Charisma whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Charisma modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a bard spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Bard modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Bard modifier

Tormentor's Ire
Starting at 3rd level, as a bonus action, choose one creature you can see within 30 feet of you. The target creature is the object of your Tormentor's Ire for 1 minute. The Ire ends early if the target dies, you die, or you are incapacitated. Until the Ire ends, you gain the following benefits:
- You deal an extra 1d6 psychic damage to the target whenever you hit it with an attack or damage it with a spell.
- The target has disadvantage on saving throws against any spells you cast or abilities checks you contest with it.
- If the target creature attacks or casts a spell then you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature.
You can’t use this feature again until you finish a short or long rest.
Barbed Retort
If you cast vicious mockery on your turn then you can make a melee attack as a bonus action against that same creature.
Into the Mind
Your tormentors Ire now forms a deeper bond between you and the target. Whilst under this effect, the target creature is also considered to be under the effect of the detect thoughts spell (no concentration required), however you can use your Charisma in place of your Intelligence if the creature tries to resist the spell. If the detect thoughts aspect is resisted then the other effects from Tormentor's Ire are still in effect until the Ire ends.
Conditioned Behaviour
Your mastery over minds and behaviour has grown further. You can now cast geas at 5th level without expending a spell slot. Once you use this feature you can't use it again until you complete a long rest.
