Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Vikingr, or Viking, were fierce warriors that often went on raids for glory and wealth. Some clans, but not all of them, would raid only when it was needed to gain resources to further establish their lands. Vikingr have a strong devotion to the gods, but they do not serve them. The Vikingr is empowered and emboldened by the god or gods that they follow, looking to their stories for strength or wisdom. The Vikingr were fierce warriors of sea and land that often relied on brute strength over tactical prowess. When you create your Vikingr think of how this path may have pushed you into adventuring. Were you selected as part of a raiding party? Was your clan destroyed and you seek out new lands on which to settle? Did you set out to hoard wealth to be a Vikingr clan king? Whatever the reason you left your clan the means are always the same, violence and wealth are your greatest weapons.

Empowered by the gods

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can channel divine fury into your weapon strikes. While you’re raging, each creature you hit on each of your turns with a weapon attack takes extra damage equal to 1d8. The extra damage is radiant.

Axe Master

At 3rd level, your prowess with an axe is a gift from the gods. As a Bonus Action, you can throw an axe at a creature that you have not attacked yet this turn. You also gain a climbing speed that matches your movement speed that can be used on wood or other organic materials if you have an axe in each hand.

Chosen by the gods

Starting at 6th level, the godly power that fuels your rage can grant you the power of a god momentarily. If you fail a saving throw while you’re raging, you can succeed on the roll. You can use this ability only once per 1D4 Long Rests and suffer 1 level of exhaustion during that time.

Warcry of the Gods

At 10th level, you learn to channel godly might to inspire fear in others. As a bonus action, you unleash a battle cry infused with godly might. A number of creatures of your choice, up to half your barbarian level, within 60 feet of you that can hear you make a Wisdom saving throw, the DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier, or become frightened of you for one minute.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Valkyrian Champion

Beginning at 14th level, you have proven your might to the gods and earned a place in Valhalla. This act of heroism has left you with two valkyries assigned to collect you when you fall in battle.

While you’re raging,  being hit by an attack that would bring you to 0 hit points doesn’t knock you unconscious and you are granted one additional turn after your rage ends that takes effect immediately after your rage ends. You still must make death saving throws, and you suffer the normal effects of taking damage while at 0 hit points. However, if you would die due to failing death saving throws, you don’t die until your rage ends, and you die then only if you still have 0 hit points. When you roll Death Saves after using this ability you start with two failed Death Saves.
