Base Class: Bard
A bard is a natural master of the arts, but only members of the College of Dough can truly claim to be masters of the Culinary arts. Bards of this college are loved by many, whether it’s due to the natural sharp tongue of a bard or the pristine flavor of their confections.
Members of this college excel at buffing their allies through their magically infused baked goods, while keeping a safe distance from danger.
Enchanted Loaves
Beginning at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Cook’s Utensils and you’re able to use them as a spellcasting focus.
As long as you are holding your Cook’s Utensils, as an action you may expend one use of your bardic inspiration to magically cook a loaf of enchanted bread. The bread appears as a small loaf the size of a roll, enough for a single creature to consume. You choose the effects of the enchantment from the list below. The effects of the bread will lot trigger if the creature consuming it does not consume the whole loaf. Loaves lose their magic after 24 hours. Consuming a loaf takes a bonus action.
- Goodberry Muffin - Roll a die equal to your bardic inspiration die. The consumer regains hit points equal to the number rolled + your charisma modifier.
- Longstrider’s Garlic Bread - The consumer’s movement speed increases by 15 for 10 minutes.
- Heroic Brioche - The consumer gains advantage on attack rolls until the end of their next turn.
- Chromatic Fruitcake - The consumer may add 1d4 to all ability checks and saving throws for the next 10 minutes.
You may use this feature a number of times equal to twice your charisma modifier (Minimum of 2) per long rest.
Scalding Dough
As an action, you may pour a mixture of burning hot, extra sticky dough on a creature within 5 feet of you. The opposing creature must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC to avoid the dough, and takes 4d6 fire damage on a failed save and is covered in dough. While covered in dough, the creature has disadvantage on attack rolls and may roll a Constitution saving throw at the end of each of their turns against your spell save DC to end this effect. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and is not covered in dough. The damage of this feature increases by 2d6 at 10th level and again at 14th level. You may use this feature once per short rest.
World's Best Bread
At 14th level, you’ve learned to perfect the bread baking craft. When using the Enchanted Loaves feature, you may cast a spell into the loaf (expending a spell slot) in addition to the bardic inspiration to make a Spell Loaf. A spell loaf does not gain the effects from the Enchanted Loaves table, but is instead infused with the spell cast during creation. Once eaten, the consumer is filled with magical energy, and is able to immediately cast the infused spell.
