Base Class: Monk
Monks trained in the way of the Ashigaru take being a warrior beyond that of a simple duty, to them it is a calling to master battle as if it was a dance to perfect, Monks that have mastered the disciplines of the Ashigaru remain eerily calm and would seem equally at ease in battle as they would be drinking tea, this has allowed the followers of these values to become deadly marksmen using swift motions to reload and fire ranged weapons accurately even in deadly close quarter combat. Outsiders looking upon a Ashigaru monastery would often confuse it with a army training camp.
Path of Ashigaru
3rd-level Way of the Ashigaru feature
You gain proficiency in the Firearms, Crossbow, light, Crossbow, Heavy and Crossbow, hand if you don't already have it, the ranged weapons are monk weapons for you. additionally you gain the following benefits when using these weapons.
- You Ignore the Loading property for crossbows and firearms which you are proficient
- Being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn't impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls
Ki Shot.
3rd-level Way of the Ashigaru feature
You manifest your Ki into a spiritual projectile. As an bonus action, you can spend 1 ki point to fire a ranged weapon attack from a ranged monk weapon you are holding dealing force damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die + your Dexterity modifier.
When you use your Flurry of Blows, you can replace one of the unarmed strikes with a use of this feature without spending a ki point for the Ki shot.
Ki Burst
3rd-level Way of the Ashigaru feature
You use your ki to cause an explosion of willpower. When you hit a creature with an ranged weapon attack, you can spend 1 ki point to deal extra force damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier. You can use this feature only once per turn.
Dance of Missiles
6th-level Way of the Ashigaru feature
Your swift movements becomes a dance of devastation. You gain the ability to use your ki to duplicate the effect of a specific spell, as an action you can spend 3 ki point to cast Conjure Barrage, you may spend an additional 1 ki point to ignore the material component for the spell and to convert the damage type of the spell to force damage.
- Your Range weapon attacks now ignore half cover.
- You can reload your ranged Monk weapons even if you have no free hands.
Ki Barrage
11th-level Way of the Ashigaru feature
Honing your will allows you to unleash it in rapid succession. You can now unleash multiple Ki shots. When you use Flurry of Blows, you can now replace each of the unarmed strikes with a use of your Ki shot, without spending ki points for the ranged weapon attacks.
In addition, when you make an Ki shot with Flurry of Blows, you can use Ki burst with that Ki shot without spending the ki point for Ki Burst. You can still use Ki burst only once per turn.
Missile Bending
17th-level Way of the Ashigaru feature
The flow of Ki now bends to your will. Whenever you hit or miss with a Ki shot you may bend the attack to target another creature within 30ft of the previous target, you may do this up to 2 times per turn and uses can be split between the multiple Ki shots offered by your Flurry of blows (allowing you to make 4 Ki shots per turn using Flurry of blows and 3 without)
- Your Ranged weapon attacks ignore three-quarters cover.
