The butterfly is a symbol of beauty, elegance, and rebirth, among other things. Monks who choose the Way of the Butterfly aim to show just how much a graceful fighter can accomplish. With dazzling charm, blinding light and heavenly colours, these monks serve as a poster child for the phrase "fighting is a form of art". Many of these monks live near natural scenery to better connect with the beauty of nature, though there are plenty who visit larger communities, where they are sometimes mistaken for bards. 

Delicate Beauty

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you are blessed with almost unnatural, captivating beauty. You have advantage on Persuasion and Performance checks, and as an action, can spend 1 ki point to affect up to three creatures of your choice within 30 feet. Each creature must succeed on a Charisma saving throw, or be charmed by you for 1 minute, or until they are harmed. 

Flashy Stun

At 6th level, when you use your stunning strike feature and succeed against an enemy, you emit a flash of bright light. Each enemy creature within 30 feet of you that can see you must make a Constitution saving throw or be blinded until the end of your next turn. 

Scales of Reflection

By 11th level, you are granted a form of protection from the butterfly. As an action, you can spend 3 ki points to summon small, glistening scales, which float around you in a skittish dance.  While you are surrounded by these scales, spells and other magical effects that attempt to put you to sleep, charm, frighten, or petrify you, are reflected back at the source of such a spell or magical effect. For example, if a spellcaster tries to cast Charm Person on you, a dragon attempts to use its Frightening Presence, or you are targeted by a Basilisk's Petrifying Gaze, they will be the ones who have to make saving throws against their own save DC, or fall victim to those effects. 

The scales remain around you for 10 minutes, and extend to your allies if they are within 10 feet of you. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest. 

Fluttering Grace

Your connection to the symbol of beauty that is the butterfly grows ever so deep, reaching a state of bliss as you embrace it. Upon reaching 17th level, you can use your action to manifest a pair of large butterfly wings from your back, the pattern of which represents your journey, and the unique form of elegance you achieved. The wings grant you a flying speed equal to your walking speed, shed bright light in a 5 foot radius, and dim light for an additional 10 feet. While you have these wings manifested, you can charm up to six people instead of three using your Delicate Beauty feature. 

The wings last for 1 minute, or until you dismiss them as a bonus action.
