Base Class: Sorcerer
The rage mage is a sorcerer born from a raging spirit or elemental anscestry.
Spell Rage
Starting at 1st level using a bonus action, you can enter a spell rage. While in your spell rage you gain the following benefits while you're not wearing any armor or using a shield.
- You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of +1).
- Being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn't impose disadvantage on your ranged spell attack rolls.
- When you cast a Sorceror cantrip at a creature within 5 feet of you, add your Charisma modifier to the damage it deals on a hit.
Your spell rage lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are knocked unconscious, don armor or a shield, or if your turn ends and you haven't used the Cast a Spell action last turn or taken damage since then. You can also end your spell rage on your turn as a bonus action.
You can use this feature twice. You regain all expended uses of it when you finish a short or long rest.
Destructive Spells
Starting at 1st level, your spells have a more destructive impact on your environment. When you Cast a Spell to deal damage to a non-magical object, that isn't being worn or carried, you deal double damage.
Wrathful Evoker
Starting at 6th level, you've learned to better control the destructive force of your spells.
While spell raging, when you cast an evocation spell that affects an area that includes yourself, you can expend a sorcery point to take no damage from the spell, and creatures within 5 feet of you take additional damage equal to your Charisma modifier.
Lay Waste
Starting at 14th level the force of your spells have become so destructive that they are capable of altering the landscape. When you cast an evocation spell that affects an area, you can spend 2 Sorcery points to cause the area of the spell to become difficult terrain.
The area remains difficult terrain until it is cleared. A creature can use an action to clear up a 5 foot space of difficult terrain created by this feature.
Spell Fury
Starting at 18th level while Spell Raging, when you use your action to cast a Sorceror spell, you can expend 2 sorcery points to cast another Sorceror spell as a bonus action. This spell must be an evocation spell, using a spell slot no higher than 3rd level.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Posted Aug 15, 2022It's a travesty that this isn't on page 1 of Sorcerer subclasses sorted by rating. I looked through every single one up to this on page 7 and can confirm that this is one of 10 or so sorcerer subclasses that are actually unique (not having half a dozen duplicates). Well done!
