Base Class: Barbarian
A type of almost ritualistic dance created by and practiced predominantly by Red Oni this school of fighting is not only meant to defeat one's foes but to pay homage to the Earth that gives them life. While it is not impossible for this style to have been passed on to other races it would have required them to grow close to one of the reclusive giants, a feat that is not often seen.
Rhythm of the Land's Heartbeat
Starting when you choose this class at 3rd level you gain proficiency in the Performance and Acrobatics skills as you dance to the pulse of life within all things.
Dance of the Whirling Tempest
Starting at 3rd level you fight with exquisite grace. On your turn, you can initiate a combative dance as a bonus action.
While dancing, you gain the following benefits if you aren't wearing heavy armor:
- You have advantage on Dexterity checks and Dexterity saving throws. While under the effects of Danger Sense you take no damage when succeeding on dexterity saving throws.
- When you make a melee weapon attack using Strength or Dexterity, you gain a bonus to the damage roll that increases as you gain levels as a barbarian, as shown in the Rage Damage column of the Barbarian table.
- You have gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Charisma modifier.
- Your weapon attacks score a critical hit on 19 or 20.
If you are able to cast spells, you can't cast them or concentrate on them while dancing.
Your dance lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are knocked unconscious or if your turn ends and you haven't attacked a hostile creature since your last turn or been attacked since then. You can also end your dance on your turn as a free action.
Once you have danced the number of times shown for your barbarian level in the Rages column of the Barbarian table, you must finish a long rest before you can dance again.
This ability does not replace your Rage feature, however they do work off the same Rage charges and they cannot both be active at the same time.
Dance of the Sundering Seas
At 6th level your flurry of attacks leave your target's vitals wide open as you invoke a dance of the crashing waves to tear through their defenses.
While dancing, landing an attack with a melee weapon will increase the damage of your next melee weapon attack by 1d6.
This feature resets at the start of your next turn or whenever you attack a different creature.
Dance of the Raging Inferno
While dancing your fluid movements and elegant flourishes ignite a flame in the hearts of your comrades, goading them into a heated frenzy.
Beginning at 10th level, whenever you initiate a dance choose any number of allies who can see you; All of those allies gain temporary hit points equal to your Barbarian level plus twice your Charisma modifier. In addition, whenever you land a weapon attack against a creature any allies who have the temporary hit points from this feature gain a +1 to hit rolls and save DCs against that target until your next turn. This effect can stack, however, you do not benefit from it.
Dance of Gaia's Embrace
When your flawless dance is interrupted the very earth itself rises up in protest, rejuvenating you so your splendid display may continue.
At 14th level, when you are reduced to 0 hit points while dancing you are concealed by a growth of stone-like thorns, granting you full cover and absorbing all attacks that would be directed at you. These thorns have an AC of 15 and 150 hit points. If these thorns survive until your next turn you are revived with 1 hit point and your dance is immediately resumed.
This feature can only be triggered once per long rest.
