Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Enduring Mountain have learned to be patient, to channel the strength of the earth, and to let others come to them. Through practiced, disciplined meditation, they are able to channel the strength of the mountain. Walkers of this way are stalwart and strong. They do not run or rush, they plant their feet, they stand, they declare that they shall not be moved.

Honed by Sky

3rd-level Way of the Enduring Mountain feature

You have trained for long periods at great elevation among snow-covered peaks. You have resistance to cold damage, and do not suffer the effects of high altitude environments. You can also speak, read, and write Auran.

Patient as the Stone

3rd-level Way of the Enduring Mountain feature

You are attuned to the soul of the earth and the mountains that rise above it, and are able to endure, awaiting and weathering whatever may come. As a bonus action, you can enter a meditative trance that creates an aura of patience and strength around you. This lasts until your concentration ends (as if concentrating on a spell) to a maximum of 1 minute. While in this trance, you have the following attributes:

  • Arctic Winds. Your unarmed strikes have a range of 15 feet, and creatures provoke opportunity attacks when entering or exiting this range.
  • Avalanche. You can make opportunity attacks without using your reaction.
  • Immobile. Your speed is reduced to 0 and you cannot benefit from any increases to your speed or be moved against your will.
  • In the Shadow of the Peaks. You and any creatures you choose within 15 feet of you have half cover.
  • Magic Resistance. You have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend 3 ki points to use it again.

Hardened by Frost

6th-level Way of the Enduring Mountain feature

Your body has begun to take on physical aspects of the mountain. You decide the appearance of these changes, whether a stony texture to your skin, a chill in the air around you, or another visible change. As a result of these changes you are hardier than before.

You have advantage on Athletics and Acrobatics checks, and you count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Additionally, you can harden your body to shrug off injury. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to roll 3d4. Add your Constitution modifier to the number rolled and reduce the damage by that total. You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Eternal as the Earth

11th-level Way of the Enduring Mountain feature

Your connection to the soul of stone deepens like the roots of the mountains. You can now use the bonus action granted by your Patient as the Stone feature twice before needing to finish a long rest, and gain additional benefits while in that state:

  • Blizzard Strike. You can choose to change the damage type of your unarmed strikes to cold, lightning, or thunder.
  • Hands Like Hailstones. Once on each of your turns when you hit with an unarmed strike, you can deal additional damage of the same type equal to one roll of your martial arts die.
  • Sheer Mind. You have advantage on constitution saving throws to maintain concentration on this feature.
  • Spell Turning. If you succeed on a saving throw against a spell affected by your magic resistance and the spell is 5th level or lower, the spell has no effect on you and you can expend a number of ki points equal to the level of the spell to have the spell instead target the caster.

Shaped by Storms

17th-level Way of the Enduring Mountain feature

You are one with the wind and sky and stone, and can unleash their power with great force. You can expend 4 ki points to cast Investiture of Ice, Investiture of Stone, or Investiture of Wind without requiring any components or concentration. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for these spells.
