Monk
Base Class: Monk

These monks have approached the arcane forces of reality through intuitive, philosophical approaches tied in to a martial arts practice. They gain access to sorcerer spells similar to an Arcane Trickster.

SpellFist

Starting at 3rd level when you choose you monastic path You may make an unarmed attack to deliver a touch spell instead of a melee spell attack. If the attack hits, add your unarmed attack damage to the spell's effect. You may also use your martial arts attacks as if you used a normal attack action. You may not add this spell to the extra attacks you gain from martial arts or to an attack during your flurry of blows.

You also gain Proficiency in Arcana.

Spellcasting

When you reach 3rd level, you augment your ki with the ability to cast spells. See Spells Rules for the general rules of spellcasting and the Spells Listing for the Sorcerer spell list

Spell Aura

At 6th level You understand the principal of wielding magic as an extension of your own body.

  • If you cast a touch spell as part your attack, you may expend one ki point to extend the spell's effect to any additional attack you have. There is no limit to the amount of attacks you may affect this way, provided you spend 1 ki point for each attack.
  • You now add your CHA to AC
  • You may now use your Martial Arts bonus attack to cast a spell with a casting time of one bonus action.

Magic shutdown

At 11th level Your knowledge of the workings of magic and it's paths through the body allow you to shut off an enemies ability to use magic for a short time. At 11th level, when you strike a creature, you can spend 3 Ki points to force them to make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is unable to use spells or magical effects as if it was within the area of an Anti-magic field for 1 minute. If they attempt to use a spell or magical effect, they take 3d6 physic damage. A creature can remake the Con save at the end of each of their turns, ending the effect on a success.

Arcane save

At 17th level, if you succeed in a spell saving throw, you can use your reaction and 5 ki points to force the caster to suffer the effects of the spell you saved against. Your victim must do a spell saving throw as if you casted the spell using your Wisdom ability.

Runic familiar

Unlike most familiars, the familiar of an Arcane Runic monk can transform itself into a tattoo that the user carries in their flesh. Transforming into a tattoo or back to a normal familiar form is a move action for their familiar. In tattoo form, the familiar looks like a stylized version of itself, but does not count as a creature separate from the monk. In tattoo form it continues to grant its special familiar ability to be a tattoo, but otherwise has no abilities and can take no actions except to transform from tattoo into creature. A familiar tattoo cannot be erased or dispelled.
