Base Class: Ranger
Beast Hunter rangers are masters of slaying massive beasts. They have an innate ability to stand tall against the most massive of creatures, stalking, hunting, and creating tools from beasts they slay.
Beast Hunter Magic
Starting at 3rd level, you learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Beast Hunter Spells table. The spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of ranger spells you know.

Resourceful Hunter
- Starting at 3rd level, the Beast Hunter ranger is able to use parts of slain beasts in order to craft armor, weapons, and other necessary tools to survive in the wilds. You gain proficiency with leatherworker’s tools and smith’s tools and are able to use hides, scales, and bones from slain creatures to create equipment to use. The gear created is based on the CR of the monster. Consult the chart below (Crafting times are at the DM’s discretion):
- CR 1-4: Common. Takes 1-4 hours to craft.
- CR 5-9: Uncommon. Takes 5-10 Hours to craft
- CR 10-13: Rare. Takes 12-24 Hours to craft.
- CR 14-18: Very Rare. Takes 3-7 days to craft.
- CR 19-23: Legendary. Takes 3-5 weeks to craft.
- CR 24+: Artifact. Takes 2-6 months to craft.
Scavenger
Starting at 3rd level, the Beast Hunter ranger is capable of locating helpful materials in the wild. The ranger gains advantage on Intelligence (Nature) and Wisdom (Survival) checks made to find and identify animals, beasts, and plants.
Hyperawareness
Starting at 7th level, the Beast Hunter ranger may use their reaction to roll out of the way of oncoming attacks. The ranger must make a Dexterity (Acrobatics) check in order to negate the damage from a single attack. The DC equals ½ the rolled result of the oncoming attack (minimum 10.) Additionally, on a success, the ranger moves 10 feet in any direction, this movement does not provoke an attack of opportunity. On a failure, the ranger takes only half damage from the attack and remains in the same place. This ability can be used a number of times a day equal to their Proficiency bonus.
Relentless Hunter
Starting at 11th level, the Beast Hunter ranger becomes immune to spells and abilities that cause the Frightened Condition. Additionally, as a bonus action, the ranger may enter a primal state for 1 minute, causing them to add an additional 1d6 to any weapon damage for this duration. This activation may be used a number of times equal to their Constitution modifier + Proficiency bonus.
Apex Predator
Starting at 15th level, you gain advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to track animals, beasts, dragons, and monstrosities. You also gain advantage on Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution saving throws from abilities caused by the above listed creature types. Finally, you may use your reaction in order to make a single weapon attack against any creature within range that attacks you. You gain advantage on this attack roll. This ability can be used a number of times equal to your Dexterity Modifier + Proficiency bonus.
